MGS1 old trailer....

Anyone remember this MGS1 trailer?
http://home.planet.nl/~morsi093/MGS1.avi

The final game never featured that part....well, not in that way at least.

(of course I know about MGS2 trailers being even more misleading, but this was 1997/1998 or so)

well i think they shouldve taken it out...it's cooler with the dialog and the walking around slowly instead.

I don't know; I like the action in this trailer and this version of the music fits better with the ninja; it's also kinda similar to the ninja music in the VR missions.
I was kinda dissapointed when I reached the ninja and it wasn't what I expected...
still a great part though.

Not that its relevant... but while we're on misleading trailers iirc the trailer for Scary Movie 3 featured no scenes from the final product.

What? only extreme values? It can be something in between but I am hoping it to be the best damn thing. Everything else which makes a game good seems to be present in it, let's see if the story makes it out.

BTW, you were amongst those who didn't like MGS2, right? I don't find the opinions on that game unanynmous..

Well, you'll find that most people think that MGS2's story was beyond average and that Raiden sucked (I don't know a single MGS fan who liked Raiden )

hm..didn't like....that's a big word; I did like it, but indeed, not the story. The gameplay was awesome though, much better than any other metal gear.

But the story was worse than the lamest b-movie you've ever seen. An compared to the first one, it was even more disappointing. Agreed, the game itself was great, enemy AI was decent enough to make them a real difficulty, you could a whole lot more things, it's engine was amazing for it's time (and still is)... But the plot was plain silly :/ . It had some interesting things to say, however, but the way the plot expressed them totally screwed the message.

I hope they just stick to the action movie genre instead of trying to teach us what's life in the upcoming MGS3. If so, it will be awesome.

Ther was a reason as to why I got to like MGS2's stoyy. I'll refrain from further commenting but I really liked what I saw and was told in it.

hm, well....my personal opinion is that I think Kojima started overestimating himself with his more recent games. His older ones were much better, but it seems he even refuses to acknowledge them anymore.
