World of Warcraft: Beta 2

If you were to download this would it be considered illegal? I'm pretty sure it would be, but on the other hand its not something the people had to pay for... but then on the other hand again its something thats unreleased. Also if you were to download it, would you be able to create an account or not.

So, what are you waiting for... Discuss!

i believe it is illegal because blizzard isnt handing it out and im pretty sure if they caught people using it they would be pretty pissed off

about the account making, if youre signing up for an official server account, then they obviously wouldnt give it to you since its not even out yet

I did a bit of googling and I found some private servers. Again I'm not sure on the legal status for this, but as it only contains information and not where to get it I feel it would be alright to post the link.

yeah i just got accepted for the beta and I'd rather only see people on there that blizzard wants there that way it goes smoother ya know? btw it freaking rocks

The private servers are completely different from the official servers. While the beta testers could use the private servers, the unofficial players are unable to create accounts on the official servers (to my knowledge).

i appreciate the effort you put into this but i still think its illegal, and until i see some place with the consent of blizzard entertainment i think it would be better for ngemu to stay clear from this

Though it could be argued in contrast with Ragnarok Online, which iirc is okay to talk about on NGEMU.

not that its really makes it that different but WoW is still in beta testing and i bet the UCLA agreement prohibits this kinda stuff

downloading the beta is downloading copyrighted material without permission. no matter what angle you look at that, it is illegal. No way around it.
