GTA: San Andreas screenshots

http://www.rockstargames.com/sanandreas/

If your not into the whole gansta/gang thing, this game isn't for you. Pretty much the same theme as in all the other GTA games...kill people, get money, ect....

Oh please, no stupid rap... all I pray for is to be able to put your own music somehow because if Rockstar follows the them from other games in that the music is connected with the theme of the game, then we'll see rap in this game.

Can't say the GTA has changed much from those shots, except that you can ride bicycles and the time frame looks something from the 80s.

Not impressed.

Not seeing anything really new from those screen shots, just different settings, bicycles a neat addition, but I wonder why would you use them for if you got police cars on your back Don't see much use adding it in the game.

All in all, I want my Mafia 2....

I'm playing it. I don't care.
It carries the GTA title so I'm playing it wether it's rap, country, rock, pop, blues, trance, techno, rave, whatever. I don't care the game will be good.

via True Crime?

the reason GTA sells so well is just because you steal cars, beat hookers, and so on..but ultimately this, vice city, and GTA3 are the EXACT same monotonous game...

dude this looks awesome. sure you do the same thing over and over....but can you honestly think of some good games where you DONT? look at legend of ZELDA, so many dungeons over and over and over and over...with the same crappy puzzles. but why do we play it? because it's fun as hell!

and what's wrong with rap? GTA3 and vice city had rap...they dont force you to listen to it. you know, in california, we have more than rappers

I know, normally you're not forced; but when I play NFSU, I am sort of forced to put up with crap rap I never wished for. I want the racing, not the rap.
Fortunately, there is a music tool for it now...

true, but zelda has a bit more variety than GTA...GTA is run, shoot, drive, repeat...zelda has different aspects in each game. Puzzles of all sorts, fight enemies, new items (yes i know you get new guns...but we've seen them all a million times), and i quite frankly find GTA's stories to be pretty weak...This gang stole our heroine! lets befriend people and get it back!

and 3/4 of the mission objectives are to hunt down some guy and kill him or destroy a car...

This "put crappy music tracks in games and not original music" isn't exactly my bag either. In this case I just turn the damn sound off and play proper music, but considering I play Nintendo games most of the time I don't encounter this problem very often.

Isn't this game about being a gang member? Yeah, let's play surf music while I'm in Comptons.

May 12, 2004 - It was a good time to be a Grand Theft Auto fan last night, as Rockstar Games officially unveiled the first screenshots from its upcoming sequel, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (which you can read all about here) to a stunned and completely receptive crowd. Totaling three in all, the small batch of screens were originally unveiled on the official San Andreas website, but not publically advertised until this morning when the the company sent out its mailer.

Luckily the mailer also marked a brand new update for the website too, as the first bits of information pertaining to the story were revealed. It read exactly like this:

"Five years ago Carl Johnson escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas.. .a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption; where film stars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gang bangers.

Now, it's the early 90s. Carl's got to go home. His mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart and his childhood friends are all heading towards disaster.

On his return to the neighborhood, a couple of corrupt cops frame him for homicide. CJ is forced on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets."

Unfortunately those quotes above are the only bits of info that we have so far; as Rockstar is obviously going to keep the meatier details under wraps until it later this year. At the very least, we finally know which era that game now takes place and that it has a conceptual style reminiscent of the popular 1990s gangsta films like Boyz in the Hood and Juice.

Thought I would post the IGN tidbit here.
Still not very appealing. They need something more to impress me.
