RPG movement methods?
Refer to poll and/or elaborate whether you prefer the method that pretty much always was around or the one that has popped up fairly recently.

The new method sucks a lot... nuff said
![]() OK, I'll be more specific.... the new system sucks because it makes aexploration pointless.... like in FFX... the exploratuion of the map was just tap the D-pad and then X, tap D.Pad and then X and so on..... you do not need hints, it is a mindless system.... the ol system has some though on itself.... and it is somewhat more exciting

Yeah but then again the traditional system can be brought to radical extremes like Legend of Legaia (*shrugs*) Even at the start you had to walk enormous distances at ridicously low speeds just to move from town to town, with an annoying number of slow, random battles

I find myself more involved in a game that has an overworld map. It's probably the exploring side of me. You can see more clearly the relationship between towns and places to visit. It's also a great place to level up if you need to
