Hello guys,
I have a chance to buy a copy of Lunar for PSX from a local pawn shop, before making the purchase i would like to give you guys a chance to comment on this game... is it good? How's the story? And how long should it take me to go thru the end? I've seen screenshots from the Net and it looks pretty good. I like Old-School RPGs and graphics always take the backseat for gameplay and story. - Francois |

It's a very nice game. Has a very classic rpg feel. The story while at times seems almost child-like really is a great fantasy story. I found it to be up there with some of the recent rpg out there atleast.
As for length i'd say anywhere between 30-50 hours of gameplay depending on how fast you decide on playing through it. |

Lunar The Silver Star (Sega CD version) is one of the greatest RPGs ever (even though at the moment I dislike RPGs), Lunar Silver Star Story Complete is one of the worst remakes ever... they changed significant parts of the story, the new music is awful and the plot was turned into a children's tale... just my 2 cents...

Kaiser is correct the original (Sega CD) Lunar games are, far and away, the best. If you can find them and have a Sega CD or Sega CD emulator to play them on, then I would definately recommend those first.
As for Lunar for PSX, I would recommend it as well. It is not as great as the original but it is a very nice game in it's own right. Pick it up, play, and enjoy. I have both the Lunars for PSX. sincerely, sx/amiga |
