Talking Enthusia Professional Racing (PS2)

Emjoy some new info and screens from this brand new Game.

Quote:
Konami is readying its own entry in the simulation racing arena, the publisher announced today. Enthusia Professional Racing, in development at one of Konami's internal KCE Studios teams, is on its way to PlayStation 2 in 2005.
While Enthusia will let players tune and modify the performance of their cars, offering telemetry data during races and tuning opportunity between stages, Konami's focus is more on presenting a compelling in-car experience, with a detailed handling model, analog gas and brake controls, Logitech force-feedback wheel support, and a few new presentation elements to reflect the feeling of high-speed driving. The "Visual Gravity System" aims to replicate the effect of G-forces in fast, hard turns, while realtime weather effects present different challenges in different conditions.

The total garage of vehicles apparently numbers in the hundreds, with contributions from more than 40 manufacturers. The first screenshots show off BMW's new Mini, the new-model Lotus Elise, and an RUF CTR (the fast modified Porsche 911 from the Gran Turismo games). In addition to courses on Italian streets and foggy mountains, there's one shot of an empty desert rally stage, so it looks like some of the courses and cars will take players off the beaten path.

Enthusia will support head-to-head split-screen races. Online play isn't in the cards quite yet, but there are many more features to make up for it -- expect a full accounting going into the game's E3 debut. In the meantime, give Konami's official site a look at www.enthusia-racing.com.
Now for some Screens!

All's I can say is looks like Gran Turismo has some competition.

RB, I think it is too early to say...

I don't think it even looks as good as GT4, not saying that it looks bad or anything. In fact it looks great but not on par with GT4.

So far I can comment on only looks

Well these ra the first screens. I think Gran turismo 4 will rock. I really don't think any game can knock it off first but this game is shaping up well. It isn't done, and GT4 is much farther along.

I know, but again its Konami we're talking about. They know ho9w to handle the PS2. The have extracted the best out of the PS2 in the visual department. SH3 and MGS2....

But lets see. Another reason why I may not be interested is that it is a racing SIM. Yes, this is an arcade lover here

Same here. Sometimes I'm in the mood for some slighly/heavily unrealistic physics .

aye on that

I'm not too impressed though; Konami doesn't have an impressive record when it comes to racing games.

Im going to sound ridiculously nonsensical here. From the positions of the cars on the track, I conclude that its not going to be so much a simulation game as an arcade style insult to the simulation community. Or they accidentally put the janitor behind the wheels while taking those shots.

Heheh I was just being insensible and exaggerative there. I have recently adopted this style of writing insultingly and insensibly, but most of the time I dont mean what I actually say except hint a few thoughts or two.

I mean, no one really says " The new Ferrari is a terrible car, but it's still damn good " anymore.

As for returning full time.. I find that difficult.
