Shinji Mikami is working on it this time. said he can put DMC 'back on track'.-data- Capcom has released first details of its PS2 action adventure game Devil May Cry 3, the story takes place before Devil May Cry 1, in which Dante does not know about his true origin. The game will have more stylish action features than the first game, Dante is able to choose from a number of styles, such as gunslinger, swordmaster, trickster, royal guard and so on. Each style has its uniqueness and disadvantages. There will be a second playable character, who is a female character. Devil May Cry 3 will build on a new graphic engine, which allows more realistic visual and lighting effects. -data- Last edited by Katsuya; May 5th, 2004 at 09:34.. |

I cant wait, but i dont know if i will like the "Dante is able to choose from a number of styles, such as gunslinger, swordmaster, trickster, royal guard and so on." I liked the first two beacsue you could switch between sword and gun so smothly. I dont think it will ruin the game but wtf is a trickster do in a hack and slash game???

Not a big fan of this series but I like Dante's character. Now this may soewhat appeal to me as we have now Guns + Blades + Fists + Kicks instead of just Guns and Blades. Cool ![]() The texture detail and lightning seems to have improved, but the images are very small and blurry to tell. Nice news anyways. Looking forward to E3. |

well i guess it was only a matter of time. CAPCOM seem to have a good thing going on with the PS2 console. first the Onimusha series and now Devil May Cry. i wonder if this will be the finale of Devil May Cry like Onimusha 3 was the finale of its series.

And I don't think this'll be the end or finale of this series. In fact, as Katsuya posted, it is a prequel.... |

Where's the female characters. I didn't see any shots of them? Am I missing something? I never played the 2nd game. I rented the first. I think I might go buy both for about 10 bucks each from Splitstone. Dante does intrigue me. I doubt very well this would be the end of the series, considering that Mr. Dante has been appearing in numerous cameos, as well as a comic book. The prequel thing, dosn't mean much. Look at Tenchu series. 1st game had a cliffhanger, skip to prequal, third game continues 1st game. (I know the third game was a different maker.) |

More info. -data- A prequel to the original game, Devil May Cry 3 brings new elements to the series other than the expected visual and presentation upgrades. At the forefront, is the all-new Style System that allows players to select from Gunslinger, Swordmaster, Trickster, and Royal Guard types classes. These style classes allow players to distribute experience points to specific attributes to build their characters more specifically. Other new features include an original 3D engine, improved lighting and shadow effects, and a realistic weather system. The prequel will deal with Dante as he rediscovers his demonic powers throughout the game's missions. Each mission will include two cinematics order to progress the storyline, one as you enter the level and the other as you finish it. Some missions will feature multiple boss fights, others will have no bosses at all. Addressing one of Devil May Cry 2's largest flaws, the levels in Devil May Cry 3 have been designed in a manner to force the player to use both long (guns) and short (sword) range attacks equally. Style has always played an integral part in the Devil May Cry series, and this installment is no exception. Using the new "Style System", players will choose a specific style at the beginning of the game. Each style will have distinct advantages and disadvantages. Four styles have been unveiled at this time - Gunslinger, Swordmaster, Trickster, and Royal Guard. Unfortunately, the E3 demo of Devil May Cry 3 will have many of its style features removed, as to avoid "ruining the surprise." With its brand new graphical engine, Devil May Cry 3 is set to include destructible environments, more realistic shadows and lighting, and weather effects. The title is expected to be equal in length to the first game, retaining the focus on puzzles as well. As is traditional for the series, the title will also introduce a mysterious female character, though her involvement in the story is unknown at this time. There is no word yet on an expected release date, but the title will be shown at E3, albeit in a restricted form. Expect more details then. -data- |
