FFIX party selection

Hi guys, i am on cd3, at the point where u go after Kuja after sinking into quicksand. The thing i cant decide is who to have in my party . I wanna keep Vivi as his blk magic is really good, cant decide between Dagger and Eiko, and Freya, Amarant and Quina. Any help in deciding who to have would be appreciated. Thx a lot.

You shouldn't take any Mages with you, the Oilvert, If I'm right where you're going next, has an anti-magic field so you can't use any magic there...

well, by the end of the book i was using zidane garnet freya and steiner... as soon as freya gets dragon crest it becomes increasingly useful... just kill dragons, the more dragons you kill the more damage you do, i ofcourse was doing 9999 by the end of the game with it... and steiner was doing 9999 with Shock skill too

iam not sure since i haven't played this game in ages but is this the place where you can kill all the enemies by just throwing a "Soft" at them ?

Six Dragons - Draws HP and MP from two characters to revitalize the other two

that's why it makes 2 of my party 1hp and 1mp .
which 2 characters ?
btw the same trick of killing dragons , can be made for another 2 abilities .
1) theivery for zidane , the more u steal , the more it does fixed damage
2) Frog drop for quina , the more u catch frogs the more it makes a fixed damage

even iam stumped as to how it does that

as for the other 2 i knew about Thievery but rarely used it. i also knew about Frog Drop but i never had the patientence to catch 100 frogs which is why i also never got the Gastro Fork

i catched over 100 frogs , basicly i have 9999 damage each time .
and i use theivery much with yans and difficult bosses .
btw , the more u have of accesories which u learn summons from the more that summon mkaes damage .
and the more u have phoenix pinion , there is a probability that phoenix will come and revive all ur party if u died (instead of gameover )

yeah but zidane's thievery is a pain... you need to steal like 1300 times to get it to do 9999 damage, he was doing about 2000 damage for me by the end of the game with it, and normally was doing 6k damage with a norm attack

i thought quinas frog drop went to 7000... meh whatever

say you have like 1 garnet stone (the one that summons bahamut) .... and he does 3000 damage, but if you have 99, he'll do 7000 damage... same with the other stones, rubies topaz, etc

i used to steal much since the begining of the game (not just bosses) , so when i first got the theivery ability i was making 6000+ damage with it , i kept stealing more till i had it 9999

quina's frog drop depends on quina's level and how much did u catch .
theivery makes zidane usefull when fighting ozma , as without it he is useless (or u can just make him use items)
