If you own a PS2, try these: "Disgea: Hour of Darkness" and "Ring of Red".

If your a Tatitc's Rpg lover. Now would be the time to get a ps2. It seems since the hit of Disgaea, a import of tatic rpgs are coming to it.

some are:
La pucelle Tatics
Spectral Foce
Shining Force Series

There are many more where those came from.

tactics ogre is HARD, be forewarned. A lot of your time will be spent just simply training your guys and leveling them up, with the occasional story advancement every now and then. it's not like FFT where you only need to do random battles near the end.

FEDA: Emblem of Justice for the snes is being translated as we speak. It's in playable form, but the script needs heavy revision. Word is, we'll see a 100% patch out in the relative future.

Also, for the snes, try your hand at Super Robot Wars 3. It's actually pretty decent, and even better if you're a mecha anime fan. Give that a try. Also, some of the psx (and probably ps2) SRW have translation projects going on. I played some psx ones (srw alpha, and alpha gaiden), and the most notable feature, before epsxe crashed in alpha, and i died in gaiden, was they have exponentially awesome soundtests, with all of the featured mechs theme songs, they have kareoke versions, and gaiden even has one with little SD sprites flying around for each song. it's cool as hell... if you like that kind of stuff. Oh, there's kickass strategy games in there too.

Continuing the subject of snes games, try Treasure Hunter G. I only played through the first couple battles, but it's pretty cool. It's not like other SRPGs. You have a world map you freely walk around in, and you visit towns and stuff that you walk in. You also walk around in the dungeons, too. CRAZY. It's pretty cool. It's loosely based on live-a-live's engine (or is it the other way around?), only the battle fields are much larger, and more emphasis is placed on the strategy aspect of things. along the same lines, give live-a-live a go, it's pretty cool to.

And lets not forget about bahumat lagoon. You raise dragons to fight on your side, and it's pretty cool. I dont feel like typing a whole lot, so just go there...

there WAS a translation project for Summon Night 3 for the ps2, from ayashii gamesubs, which looks really cool, but it was moved into dead projects without any notice at all. It wasn't even on hold when they dropped it... wierd.... Well, maybe one day they'll bring it back (i doubt it, though).

Want something easy? try the Farland story series. They aren't exactly bad, by all means, it's just that they're REALLY easy. They're good to start you off with srpgs, which would be all fine and dandy if there weren't 6 of them! But look around and at least try a couple .

That's all i can think of at the current time, i'll try and think of some more later on. I tried to list alot of games that people haven't and probably wouldn't list. Some of these are real goodies (like bahumat lagoon and live a live (if that can be considered an srpg)). Give a few a try .

I recommend Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis for the GBA. The interface is easier to use than Final Fantasy Tactics.

Hmmm.... id barely call Treasure Hunter G a tactical rpg... at least in the practical aspect, despite it being enjoyable, its pretty easy. Still it was the last RPG released by Square for the SNES so its worth a shot

Bahamut Lagoon is also easy but it is well done, along with a more or less good story, and an innovative playing (i guess.... )

Tactics Ogre it's a great game, and if you play TO:The Knight of lodis GBA, youŽll see at the end of the game that you were lance, from Tactics Ogre, really every person who likes RPG, should play this two games.

I have to agree with this one. TO is an excellent game and I'd hope to see a continuation of the series to connect everything more fluently.

Not that I play them anymore but... Fire Emblem 4 Genealogy of the Holy War (Snes - Patch translations covers approx. 80% of the game), Fire Emblem VI Sealed Sword (GBA - Script translation available at Gamefaqs, convers like 70%-75% of the game) and Fire Emblem Blazing Sword (GBA - US version, meaning that it is 100% in English).

Others would include Shining Force I and II on the Sega Genesis or the Sega CD, Mystaria and Shining Force III for the Sega Saturn...

that 80% figure on FE4 should not fool you into believing that you can play through 80% of the game without issues. The missing text is random, there's graphical and script related glitches everwhere, and the script itself is a tad rusty. Worst of all, the group that did it was J2e, which as some may know, is a now defunct group. But alas, there is hope. They kindly released their progress and source codes to the public as they fell apart. A gentleman known as Dark Twilkitri is working on a reparation project. He released a patch of his work thus far, and it's much more acceptable than J2e's. Check it out here: http://darktwilkitri.thegreatbeyond....ireemblem4.php

Not Random, but predictable... the text that appears when engaging on a battle with a boss, the names of the character of the second generation, the text displayed at the end of the first genealogy and the ending text is screwed... the rest is fine...

Edit: just checked the site you gave me... it's weird the patch I have isn't the one from that dead group but it isn't either the one from that guy... I'd have to say that it's between the 2... or something like that.

Meanwhile, La Pucelle is out and it's sucking up my time. Someone at gamefaqs found a way to get super bonuses on "Purifying" , so I'm getting super-strong items and +80k prica (the money) every time I use it.
