Max Payne 2 problem...PLEASE HELP! :(

Hello all. I have a Radeon 9200, with Catalyst 4.2 drivers, including Rage3D Tweak 3.9 installed. Now, I install Max Payne 2 and I try run it.....then I get this error message

An error has occured in the graphics engine. try to downgrade your screen mode and/or other settings by pressing the "Options..." button in Max Payne 2 startup dialog. Max Payne 2 requires a DirectX9 compatible display adaptor. Please consult the troubleshooting readme in the installation folder.

Error: setFullscreen - creating device failed : D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE

I have no idea what the hell to do, cause it was working a couple of days ago, and now it doesn't. Any help is appreciated.

Well your gonna have to think back to anything and everything you downloaded that may relate to a graphics card. Either appz, games, demos?

Nothing. I have no idea what the hell is going on. I reinstalled Windows last night, but installed IDENTICAL software from the previous installation of Windows...I really don't know what else this could be.

Did you install DirectX 9? Even if you did mabe try reinstalling it. It sounds like some type of driver issue or something. The same goes for your Graphic Card Driver and maybe even the game. But try one then check, and if it still doesn't work try the next one then check etc ...

I hope you can get it working.

I installed DirectX9.0b, I installed the latest Catalyst 4.4 Drivers and I installed the v1.1 patch for the game....and still, nothing.

What can I do?

How many times have you tried reinstalling the game?

The error might casued by the Rage3d. Rage3d, while a nice program, sometimes causes small, but very fatal errors inside the registry,without notice. You may want to try checking to make sure all the tweaks are set to the way you wanted them.
