WOW! THAT LOOKS SWEET!!! R.A. Salvatore is excellent writer (his writings really draws me inside the book), but i still fear it will be flop like Return Of The King game.

Caption from the game:

hack hack slash hack combo hack combo slash slash hack hack

Next level:

hack hack slash hack combo hack combo slash slash hack hack

Next level:

hack hack slash hack combo hack combo slash slash hack hack

so on

so on

so on

Seriously where you can fit Salvatorelike story and emotions to game like that?

After reading about the game in Game Informer (Insert laugh of insanity). I actually must admit. Stormfront sounds like they want to fix the hack hack slash slash problem. As for the story. Salvatore had mention on his site as well as in a few previews. That unless the story could be portrayed fully he would not do it.

Here's to having hope.

When will they stop raping the D&D license and go back to nice plot, party and quest based RPG's. I mean, hack n slash RPG's are all well and good, but they're not really my cup o' tea. They had a winning formula with Planescape Torment and the Baldur's Gate games and then decided to focus almost entirely on hack n slash action in all the games since (BG: DA games, IWD games mostly, NWN, ToEE, NWN mostly). Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is awesome - really the spiritual successor to the BG games - and what Neverwinter Nights should have been... they should make a game just like KotOR in the Forgotten Realms universe.

Now I'm not saying this game is gonna be bad, but even if it's good I don't think I'll like it as much as a huge immersive BG-like RPG, and I find it frustrating that a world as sprawling, deep, and detailed as the Forgotten Realms campaign setting can't have deeper more wide open pen-and-paper D&D type gameplay.
