Cool Street Fighter 2 movie rumor

I just got some info that street fighter 2 movie might be in the works, the bad news jean claude will more then likely be in it as he is the one that really wants the role, let's all pray if this is true that it is least watchable. Mortal Kombat 3 is supposed to come out in 2005 no word on plot though.

They'd better stayed away from making this movie... The first one was pitiful so what can we expect in another one?

Isnt Mortal Kombat 3 out already? I mean, its not officially named as Mortal Kombat 3, but mortal kombat something. (and it was refreshingly good after crappy Mk2) That movie annoyingly left a opening for sequel so i hope its going to be sequel for that.

About SF2, we are going to have another flop here. Nothing new under the sun....

There is. Its released on a tape and DVD only. Its about what happened in time before first Mk movie. About ancestor of Liu Kang, whos-name-i-forgot-the-dude-with-a-hat. The odjob copy cat you know.

the cape guy ?! u mean kung-lao ?
any way , sf2 will be good if ryu is there as the hero (no guile this time) , and with Akuma as his rival (and i really want to see a fight between gen and akuma , or evil ryu against shin akuma)

Yes, it was Kung Lao. The name of the movie was Mortal Kombat - Conquest. But it is actually a TV SERIE! It seems what i saw on video was two or three episodes compiled to one movie. No wonder it left an opening for sequel since it has whole season more episodes!

http://my.tele2.ee/mortalconquest/episodes.php

I must get this serie, it was good. At least those eps what i saw.

You can't alienate movie-goers who aren't gamers . All of that stuff is too crazy for them to impliment (Evil Ryu, Akuma, Gen - too weird of stories).

But if they execute the flick like the SF Anime (not V but the motion picture one) then maybe it could work. That movie was bad ass. (still would alienate a lot of people though even if it was live action).

Yes, but it wasn't because the film was bad, but because people didn't have thepatience to watch it a couple of times and work out what was going on.

mk2 was bad becuae of ???? i don't know , but mk1 was pretty good while 2 (annihilation) was ugh .
and for movies based on VG , i think it can be made in a good way if it had a staff with good imagination .
remember (blade) or (lord of the rings)
u can put things like this to make a (street fighter / mortal kombat) using (blade)'s staff . and (Final fantasy ??) using the other staff .

The Tomb Raider movies were both good action flicks. They were far from crap, at the least they were just average movies, but I'd go so far as to call them good ^^. And a lot of critics would go that far too. Definitley not great, but you're selling them short saying they're crap.

Super Mario Brothers, shouldn't have been named Super Mario Brothers; mainly because Super Mario Bros has absoltuely no right to have a movie based on its license. There's no real good plot within the games - they're about gameplay, not story - even paper mario & super star saga have crap stories. What they did with that movie was take a basic premise, change the goombas to be more intimidating (if you saw a goomba in the movie that looked like the game you'd laugh more than you did at these ones). Making Koopa a human looking enemy was a good move, and the history behind those people as well. It's a good B-Movie, nothing more though. Just have to not take it seriously (the actors and director certainly didn't). It's similar to something like Evil Dead, but for kids (that same kinda humor and cheesy story...less violence & tongue in cheek gore).

FF: Spirits Within was also a good movie, they used the license of FF even less than the people who made Mario Bros. No characters (was there even a Cid in that game?) Totally different world than a majority of the series, a plot that was far different than any FF before it. As it's own movie its actually good, has a plot that follows through, you watch the characters grow etc... And the action is thrilling when it needs to be. If anything this movie was too short, it could have used a little more fighting, but with a more tangible enemy than the 'ghost-like' aliens. The whole plot was far-fetched, but I've seen worse movies in the science fiction realm...far worse. This is above every B movie I've seen, and definitley not crap.

Mortal Kombat was a great videogame adaptation. They took the story to heart, took the characters to heart, and made a movie sticking to the plot most excellently. By far the best video game movie I've ever seen.

Street Fighter did so many things wrong, it half-assed what MK did, story was half right, characters were half-right (and half-missing). It's really similar to the crappy movies you see on late at night on USA, there's just too many cheesy plot elements and characters not taking themselves seriously enough. Plus the design is all wrong. They would have done better just taking the name and not basing it on any characters. Outfits were cheesy, bison never really made himself scary or intimidating, the whole reason for fighting was a military operation (they should have gone with a fighting tourney). All in all, it turned the wrong direction on too many fronts...definitley crap.

And MK2 tried too hard to be like the first but over-the top (in the wrong direction). Definitley crap.
