Skies of Arcadia 2 for PC????

I was searching the web for SoA downloads and came to this this French site.

Maybe someone with better skills can translate it?? Cause my interpretation might differ with the truth And has someone else read something about this on another site??

Source

Story:

I think it's referring to the upcoming PC port rather than a sequel... I dunno what's that "2" doing in there though...

That was my guess also, cause I think it says:
No new graphics and no new gameplay.

Or something like that....

Geez.. I hope there WILL be a next SoA, since I love the original. Well let's just wait till someone can give an accurate translation (i don't trust internet translators that much) and till there will be something official.

Well, at first a supposed sequel for SoA was scheduled for the GC... sadly that ended on a port of the original game (and to make things worse it was a bad port). I really wonder at this point if we will ever see a sequel to SoA...

what's up with Sega ? it's porting many games to pc now
may be that's better than waiting for DC to be emulated

Well the screens from the port look rather promising, I just hope that the requirements won't be too high... SoA ran a bit slow at times on the DC so I suppose that it might demand a very powerful system...

well if it's a good port , tnt2 will run it fine (i mean tnt2 is better than DC's vcard powervr2)

The Kyro2 (roughly equivalent to the DC's PowerVR chip) was a decent match (trouncing it thougoughly in some things and bad drivers accounting for roughly equivalent speed in others) for the geForce 2MX. The 2MX was roughly equivalent in performance to the original geForce DDR (IIRC) which destroyed the TNT2.
The reason the PowerVR got such bad press was for a number of reasons including:
  • No FSAA support (even tho the card could in theory handle it)
  • No HW T&L support. It was a DX 6 part
  • Bad graphics glitches in a number of games due to poor drivers
  • Lacklustre performance in seemingly random games, again most likely resulting from shoddy drivers
As you can see, had nVidia's driver team been behind it, the way things are today could have been quite different.

Not really, the graphics were the same, almost 0 improvements... the speed was slightly lower than the DC at some points... as for the music, it wasn't even close to the DC version...

2 Kaiser: Three cheers for the DC!!
Ppl in my class say I'm crazy because I bought a DC this summer, I might even be the only DC owner of the complete school ( 900 ppl). Well, SoA and Soul Calibur is regretting them that they've never bought one!

they'd better have SOA running decently on PC if they still want to sell a few copies; its graphically not even one of the DC's highlights; so they least they can do to let it still match with current games is making it run good on a low-end pc.

SoA is the DC's best rpg, and one of the best RPGs made this century (it WAS made this century, right?). It's got a decent story, but it's got reams of stuff to do on the side which always makes things interesting. I love its battle system, and its ship battles (the game is based in the air and airships are your transportation) are quite unique, though they could have been more plentifull (the only good ones were story battles), and with less predictable AI. All in All, SoA is a great game. If it comes out here for pc, you have to pick it up.

It was made this century, however I don't think it's the DC's best RPG. It was great back then, but RPGs like Izumo or Fragance Tale are far better RPGs... mainly because of the innovative factor...

Well so far I love the story, gameplay, graphics and sound... So it's one of the best games I've ever played, yet I'm only at disc one (don't even know how far).
It's a great game, but the hand to hand combat was better in the other great DC RPG I have: Grandia 2. But I've now spend 3/4th of the time I spend on Grandia 2 to complete it. So I guess SoA is way bigger.

And those RPG's you mentioned Kaiser: Are they in English??
Or are you teasing me again telling it's japanese or something and that you do have the ability to play and I don't
Cause that happens all the times when I catch you talking about DC games

gamefaqs doens't list a release outside of japan for fragance tale, but for izumo it has "n/a" over north america (whatever that means). I've heard of fragance tale, but never of izumo. I only counted English RPGs, since the majority of people here (including me) cant speak japanese.

edit: oh, it just came out a few days ago. I'm guessing it's not going to see an english release... oh well...
