me and my friends run endless discussions on which ones better.. so what do you guse think is better. half life or halo?

Half-Life was a masterpiece, with its replayability through mods and its killer story...the only thing halo has is the advantage of graphics...Half-Life Hands Down, 'Nuf Said, Thank you Amsterda! Good Night!

Half-Life, I'm amaze when I first play and finish it, last game that could make me feel that way was probably Mafia and HL mods is stil going strong even now.
Halo in sp mode bored me to tears, IMO it's just a bland and generic fps with vehicles. MP was fun tho.

halo's (pc) gameplay/story was weak and kinda boring, especially compared to hl. hl is still very good and alot of fun even without its mods. and its also cheaper

halo to me is mainly a multiplayer thin. cuz the story is kindof dull, but i play it more than i do half life. cuz the main game in it is SO LONG. still havent beaten the damn thing..

half life wins for me because im sure we are talking about PC versions. in general though i believe Halo Xbox tops all.

i play CS all the damn time, however i have had over 100 hours of multiplayer (co op and vs) Halo on the Xbox and i can, without a doubt, say that Halo Xbox is the best multiplayer game i have ever played.

but in the PC realm.....no co-op and having to tone down to bare min options and 800x600 to get smooth gameplay makes me sick

I VOTE FOR Half Life! because HALO only focus on graphics and big system requirement, plus I don't feel Dizzy when I played half-life, usually I can get Dizzy when playing most FPS game.

I didn't get Half-Life to be SO great... average game to me... I haven't played Halo so can't really say anything... But I think I might buy Half-Life 2 when it will be released in here...

HL is for me the best FPS ever... prolly cause it's easy to mod, and the gameplay was a revolution (more interactivity with the maps than in most FPS)

To be short, it's the only game that never left my HD these last 5-6 years

Half Life...I heard some good things about it, yet I never played it

Halo is a great Multiplayer game, yet the SIngle Player you just go back to the same place all the time, the only difference is different monsters

None. I think that HL sucks hard, and Halo is nowhere near good. And the only mod that I find playable are TFC and CS.

thats where i tend to agree with killjoy, the HL single player is alot better then halo. but i just get SO board with the HL single player sometimes because its So damn long. took me friggin forever to reach the surface without cheating. (cuz i dont know how) but only to find out it only gets longer.......

Speaking of cheats. how do you activate the consol? i know you have to go through the shortcut of the exe and enter something like C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -consol
think im missing something though..

me?nah,other than deltaforce series,all fps make me dizzy(uwekkkk!!!),but df is kinda boring

thanks killjoy, probley why none of my cheats worked before. i only had -consol -dev on the line. ill try some cheats i got from planet half life and see if these actualy work.

btw. i just found one thing that bugged the hell out of me with halo The damm plasma grenades God their irritating, im on the last level on halo. and i keep getin plasma grenades stuck on me. F$@#!!!! Lets see how half life turns out. had way to much fun with this game in multiplayer. gotta love that crow bar

You can't use cheats in multiplayer if sv_cheats 1 isn't active server side

yeah i know, wouldnt cheat on multiplayer anyway. besides i cant even DO multiplayer through my campus server. they wont alow it cuz its streaming (i played acouple network games once anyway. + ran mIRC. they kicked me off acouple times untill i yelled at em cuz i didnt know)

btw, is their a way to get only the consol + cheats? cuz the consol is displaying anything that it loads onto the game. kindof irritating..
