I heard they did a crappy port to the PS2. 30FPS, shimmering, lags, aliasing as compared to the 60FPS silky smooth on other platforms....

I hate to say this but he is right .And the sound effect of the game is so low that you can't barely hear them .Actually this is a very nice game .I also collect it since I was fan of Sonic .

There is SonicDX for the PC, which is the first Sonic Adventure game, and it runs pretty well on mine, but I've heard no rumours of Sonic Heroes as yet.

Not really, it's up to the programmers how they port the game... look at SC2, the differences between the 3 systems are almost 0, IMO Sega could have made a much better job for the PS2...

I havent heard for SonicDX to be ported for PC oficialy by sega, maybe someone that have the SDK for gamecube maded that.I got DX for Gamecube and it is written:"Only for"
About Sega,I think that it would be good to support the systems except Sony's because PS is one of the main causes Sega to fail with their consoles.Sony bought rights over many products to be made exclusively and that wasnt good for Sega & Nintendo.I know only one sonic-related game that is sold only for 1 system-Knucles Chaotix for 32x.This was a mistake that sega maded their main game for many opponent's systems.See nintendo-u can see their games only on their system and via emulation, what's the result-they are still alive & kickin'

IIRC Sonic Adventure DX for PC is already out in Japan, you can try the demos (there are 2) for yourself, we have a thread about it not so long ago:

Something I expected from Heroes:

Graphics should be somewhat like the CG in the opening. Not impossible. Ratchet 2 and JAk II. Sonic's speed was good and honestly the camera passed my criterias too. Only the graphics and presentation was a bit on the downside.

well the xbox and gamecube ports work flawlessly (their the same) but the ps2 port
runs at half the speed and has AA defects(jagged edges).

New member here and also a major sonic fan!
