What we need ain't more clothes on the women, what we need is better looking guys :P I mean... sure, Tidus was kinda cute, but that's it... "kinda cute", I'm pretty sure you all agree with me that more or less all females in the games go further than "kinda cute"? I mean who more did we have in ff10, Wakka? Auron? Come oooon... ff9? Steiner? Don't think so. Now, ff8... Squall and Laguna were pretty nice guys, especially Squall imho... Cloud, well he was good looking - that's for sure - he just wasn't my type... any more? Red 13? Barrett? Nah :P ff6? I think Edgar looks pretty nice, and Locke too... ff5? OH YAY! GALUF!! XD ff5 and down is a little hard to judge, really.
But how many did I get on that list (note that the list was out of guys that was remotely hot to gorgeous, "remotely" hot)? 6. Needless to say that the list is over three times as big on the female side... And if we change the list to "hot guys" then I'd have... Squall.. on mine... wow... Squall... against how many women? Give us more good looking guys ffs... *grumble grumble* *starts a poll of her own* |

i just signed it
im actually dont like how the women are portraited in the recent games. you want to see hot girls, there plenty of websites on the net for that. games should be more about a good storyline then how much skin you can show

its up to the company whether they wanna do that, a few hundred people will be nothin in the eyes of square if such marketing tactics do draw thousands of people to play...
i dunno about you guys but i like girls who are sexy, if it were up to people like that website owner girls would still be wearing a 10 layer dress weighing more than they do... theres fun in having some things revealed y'know? besides, this is the type of thing i wanna do for a living one day, and i know i wouldnt wanna be restricted by people like this... yes there is a difference between artistic freedom and obscenity but i dont see anything really obscene in there

seriously though guys... do you think if they make the characters more conservative that the story will actually improve? how much extra effort do you think it takes to make a character look good, i can honestly say a lot less than it does to add in hours of storylines and 3d environments which take months to make

point being, the men are not reduced to sexualized commodities, but the women are. doesn't matter that they're depictions. seriously, i am very happy to see that this kind of reaction exists.

I don't like games that have all sex appeal and no meat to the game. Fortunately FFX-2 is a game that has sex appeal & wonderful gameplay. I'd be more than willing to sign that for such games as Bloodrayne (she's damn sexy, but the game sucks) and um...thats all I can think of because I don't play games that are pretty on the outside but not on the inside so to speak
.FFX-2 portrays these ladies wearin very little clothes, Rikku esp - but they're not ditzy women, they're more capable than most of the men in the game . They are shown as strong, able bodied females, who happen to dress sexy because...they can. And honestly, most women would LOVE to go around dressed in skimpy outfits like that if they knew they looked that good and wouldn't be judged . Ask them to honestly answer and you'll find the only thing that scares em is modesty, not self instilled, but external modesty from observers. They don't want to be looked down on as sluts or hookers, not all of em anyway. Of course there are women out there that still wanna cover their ankles *chuckles*. But when people talk about censoring game developers ideas to make a more wholesome game, what is it accomplishing if that does happen? Nada. What is it ruining? nothing but creativity - if you can deal with that by all means sign that petition. Personally I'll continue to buy the games that expose females in a good/intelligent light and skip the ditzy ho's.For an example on women actually liking skimpy outfits, just look at Barbie, its popularity with younger girls, and how they like to dress them. And this game is very shoujo, more japanese women have played and enjoyed this game than the rest. Shoujo for those of you who don't know is Sailor Moon like, geared toward young ladies, giving them heroines that dress sexy, are confident, and able to accomplish daunting tasks - as you would normally see a guy in that role.

I am actually gone sign this. I mean the main dresses are the only thing that is driving me away from FFX-2 as I play it. It is indecent.
Just look at the Yuna's wardrobe change. I extremeyl liked how her character changed from FFX to FFX-2 but I as much disliked her clothing. Same goes for Rikku. Paine could have used some more artistry. Leblanc is simply messed up IMO. Everything about FFX-2 is great accept its clothing. IMO ie. |

Yuna is exhibiting a part of her ass... as men can we feel bothered by it ? Obviously not, but I really wonder if the female community don't mind these kind of stuff... Plus, there's a great truth pointed out on that site, how come that only women are turned into "sexual objects" (can't find a better term) while men remain totally normal (perish the thought if they will change them into something undecent... guess that'd be my "sayonara" of the gaming world). |

i'd sign this if i weren't so lazy and i thought it would get anywhere. i am kind of disappointed at squaresoft for the marketing strategy they've decided to employ. before it was about the 'quest and the adventure' but now its more about the T&A. and they do all look like sluts. sex appeal changes the view people take on the games.

The commercials on televison are about the adventure, not the T&A - and as I said if you were to check out japan culture there is tons of anime, manga, and games out there very similar to this but it sells well to the females (classified as Shoujo if you want to use google and read for yourselves). Why? Same reason barbie sells well here. Women like to imagine, watch or feel like a sexy (in more ways than just external appearance) capable, intelligent female.
I imagine most of you guys here saying it's better if the outfits weren't so skimpy haven't had a girl watch or play this game in your presence? It's hard enough to get women to play games, with male leads, or even female leads that fall into the sexy but ditzy category. I got my girlfriend to play Xenogears after I basically refused to stop playing while she was around . She watched the story unfold and loved the link between Fei & Elly. The instant my current lady saw me playing this game she wanted to play. Tell me, if it was offensive to her, why would she want it? My little sister at home wants the game very badly, never has she shown interest in an RPG - and I've already bought it for her for christmas. I recently went to my best friend since high schools wedding, meeting his family I found that his soon to be sister in law was a gamer, she's a sophmore in freshman in HS, she enjoyed FFX because of Yuna and later Rikku, and is very much looking forward to playing FFX-2. It wasn't out at the time, but she was well aware of what was in the game.Trust me when I say that ladies enjoy being capable, sexy, intelligent women (and yes I'm well aware you don't need skimpy to be sexy. But as long as its pulled off well, like it is in FFX-2 it's fine). Now if this game had them dressed sexy, but not have sexy attitudes (be snobs, airheads, ditzy women etc) and they were always crying for help they'd be appauled. You're looking at this with a male mind, you know that women appreciate things deeper than external appearance. My girlfriend's favorte guy in this is Gippal (mine too ), followed very closely by Nooj, she feels sorry for him, but she loves his style and machina. She thinks Baralai is a nice guy, but too wussy - reminds her of Cetan she said heh (I think Cetan was a great character and far from wussy - but she has limited gaming experience so *shrug* ).Anyway, get a woman other than your mother, grandmother or anyone over the age of 35 to check this game out while you're playing it; I'm sure you'll be suprised 9 times outta 10.
