Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter Temp Save

I got the Pal Version of Dragon Quarter, and in reviews it is mentioned that you can temporary save your game if you are not nowhere near a save point or don't want to waste a save token.

But i can't find this option, i already looked trough the manual twice, and only found some hint in the table of contents of the manual, but not on the page it mentions.

In game there is the quit option in the menu, but it only asks me to quit without saveing my game, and not to quit with saving it.

Any Ideas?
