FF7: Advent Children

This is the name of the Final Fantasy 7 direct sequel coming out. What is your thoughts and opinions on square doing an FF7 sequel?

Re: FF7: Advent Children

Its nice to have a sequel to ff7, but if its ONLY 60 MINS LONG, i bet all my money that it is waste of time/money. Square is going to make big mistake, again. I would have preferred sequel game or if it really has to be movie, then it should be a serie, maybe over ten episodes long.

Re: FF7: Advent Children

It's only going to be 60 mins long?! WTH is Square-Enix thinking? They have a gold mine on their hands and they are going to ruin it.

Re: FF7: Advent Children

Until I've seen it with my own eyes and consider it "good and fitting" I'll consider it parallel universe. I'm both thrilled and disgusted with the idea of this movie, actually... imho they should have picked another FF, one who didn't rely on leaving question marks in your head afterwards to think about. Like, an ff4 or ff9 movie would've been AWESOME :P

Re: FF7: Advent Children

No, because the thing that makes ff7 so interesting is all the things you have to think for yourself; many of those things will be obsolete with a movie released as you then "have the REAL version in the movie".

While in most other games it's not so many question marks left in the game, everything is told perfectly in the game (like Rhombus said, wrapped with a ribbon xD) and thereby a movie won't destroy any of the game's value.

Re: FF7: Advent Children

Hasn't this topic been discussed like 2-3 times now (and after it was confirmed) ?

In any case my opinion remains the same, be it a 60 minutes movie or a game I loath the idea of seeing a sequel to FFVII... FFVII was a superb game featuring a most complex ending depending from which angle did you analize it. To have a sequel after SO much time could endanger that ending... or could crush your theories on it because it will not be something as developed as what you expected.

Not to mention that the new look of the characters is awful... IMO...

Re: FF7: Advent Children

i think it wouldve been cool if they made a FF7 anime. and not a sequel either; i mean an anime of the original game. seems cool to me, the whole game in 26 eps

Re: FF7: Advent Children

BAH! It needs atleast 50 eps.
FF7 anime, that would be fullfillment of my dreams.

Re: FF7: Advent Children

I doubt that you can compress the whole game on just 25-50 episodes... considering all the important battles and the important moments you'd need no less than 80-100 eps...

Re: FF7: Advent Children

not really... half the time spent in that game was fighting random battles. there isn't THAT much that goes on, and i'm sure they could cut out some of the unimportant events.

as for the movie, i don't see why they're making it. they have to know that people will complain about it no matter what.

Re: FF7: Advent Children

Maybe we should have a sticky one to avoid having so many of these... I can foresee a flow of FFVIIAC similar to the "which FF game is your favorite?" one
