lots o pc games out today

Today, XIII, Knights of the Old Republic, Need for Speed: Underground, and MTG: Battlegrounds were released. CS:CZ was also delayed again, after going gold, go figure. Anyone play any of these new games yet or are planning on buying them? The XIII demo was really damn cool, so i'll probably pick that up, MTG is always good, regardless, and i got KOTOR for the xbox, so i'll probably just end up downloading that or something... KOTOR was amazing, btw. I reccomend for anyone who haven't played it for the box to get it for the PC.

CS:CZ has not been officially delayed. All stores have differnt release dates. The bottom line is it will be out when its out.

Not that im buying stupid cs anymore. Stupid kiddies shouldnt be able to talk.

Re: lots o pc games

i heard from someone that CS:CZ was actually quite crappy. i guess he somehow got a hold of it through some unknown means. in any case, he said the AI wasn't all that great and that it didnt even feel like CS. i have a feeling it'll be one of those over rated failed games, like RTCW and MOH:AA.

CS:CZ was great, IMO, just too short. it was a cross between goldeneye (/me wubs goldeneye) and the original CS. problem is, there's only 8 or 12 (cant remember) missions....

SO unless the final version comes with something really damn cool, it aint worth buying

Re: lots o pc games

the one you guys played isn't the one that isn't being released. Valve changed developers, and the game took a completely different turn, and the beta that was leaked was before the developer change. I heard it's going to be basically an advanced single player CS, rather than mission based things.

Re: lots o pc games

hmm... i hope so. what i had been looking forward to (oh, over a year ago? ) was an online experience with AI. i know, it probably will never feel as real and spontanious as that, not to mention the idiot speak that wont be there.

ok GOOD. that one was fun, but way too short and extremely unbalanced. i was having similar feelings as Exodus and i was quite disappointed when i played it

of the list above, I'm getting NFSU; it's coming out here tomorrow.
(my first judgement was really incorrect; the game is incredibly cool)

Re: lots o pc games

The only titles that interest me from that list are SW:KOTOR (which I won't be able to play because of my crappy GFX) and NSFU (which probably has the same requirements as KOTOR and thus I will miss it as well)... in any case, things are going slow for the PC nowadays...

not really (IMO), its been worse;
in fact, many of the 'big ones' come to pc, even if it is with a little delay.
the only games that could draw me into getting a ps2 are gradius 4 and r type final nowadays. and that's only 2 games.
and xbox and gcn are not interesting enough for me.

Re: lots o pc games

I'm taking a look at XIII, the demo was a lot of fun, depending on the price I might pick that one. Other than that, I'm still waiting for Deus Ex 2.

Re: lots o pc games

Yeah... 'tis the season. Every yearat this time it's like this, but this year seems every moreso. In addition to the stuff that was already mentioned...

Call of Duty just came out and I've gotta say that it's really awesome - graphics and sound are just ridiculous, and gameplay is pretty fun and challenging too. NBA Live 2004 has already got me addicted too - if it consumes enough hours of my life as Madden 2004 has so far, then I'm in trouble Contract JACK just came out too. I heard it's not that good and really short, but I absolutely LOVED NOLF 1 & 2 so I have to give it a shot. Simpsons Hit & Run just came out which also seems pretty cool. Soon enough Prince of Persia Sands of Time and Thief 3 should be coming out as well.

Then there's GBA... Mario and Luigi just came out a couple of days ago. I just got it and it's awesome!! It's really fun, funny, and addictive - very Super Mario RPG like, but with some new innovative gameplay - at times it feels kinda like the Lost Vikings as well. Sword of Mana is coming out in early December too, and I can't wait.

Bottomline is, I don't have even close to enough time or money to enjoy all of this season's onslaught of quality games. I just hope that the ones I DO invest my time and money in don't disappoint me.

I do agree that it has been worse but nevertheless this year struck me as slow when it comes to gaming... not just for the PC but for the consoles as well... though as always, IMO, the PC got the worst share...

Re: lots o pc games

well, it depends what you're looking for... for sports games, it'll never be slow and for shooters, it's never slow either. surprisingly, enough rpg games like BG came out: lionheart, temple of elemental evil, neverwinter expansions; and also lots of 1st person RPGs: morrowind expansions, archangel, gothic 2 and more that i can't remember.

now, how many are super great, i don't know.

Perhaps... I wish we could see some more AD&D RPGs... some space shooters (a la Descent Freespace) wouldn't hurt either...
