As expected :I

Source: collective.valve-erc.com

ShackNews is reporting they have official confirmation that Half-Life 2 is delayed. Doug Lombardi, Valve's Director of Marketing, is quoted:

The previously announced September 30th release date for Half-Life 2 is being pushed back. We are currently targeting a holiday release, but do not have a specific "in-store" date to share at this time. We will release that information as soon as we have confirmed a new date.

This will come as no surprise to many of you. Any new information will be reported, third or fourth hand, here at the Collective. We have better Comments, though.

Big titles usually see delays at some point.

yeah, when they're near the release date.
this is not surprising at all. since it happens to all major games, i have a feeling its a conspiracy.

Re: As expected :I

Its OK when big games are delayed, but when they are finally released, turn out to be great!
When they suck, thats the problem! Anyone remember Daikatana?? Man, that game was delayed 100000000000000000000 times. When was finally released, turned out to be a large piece of CR*P!

blizzard is also pushing it a little further and delayes a single patch over years/months/weeks/days maybe even hours... nobody knows... let's just hope it'll bring what it promises.... what were we talking about?

Re: As expected :I

I have no problem with delays. The only problem I have is, that some, not all, companies release a date, then push it back, not just 4 or 5 times, but some times more like 8-10 times. I just wished developers wouldn't give a release date at all, so I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Re: As expected :I

The game looks way better than doom. Its true and you know it! So its common sense that it would take longer than expected.

I didn't like HL1, but for some reason, I can't wait for this game. Maybe its just the graphics... i'm such an image whore...

Re: As expected :I

i'm waiting for this more than doom3 but nothing really looks innovative besides the graphics and physics to me...I'm waiting for a unique FPS...Like deus ex (hopefully deus ex 2 will live up to the name)...

Re: As expected :I

it wouldnt bother me much if they re-delayed it. honestly, im not anticipating it that much.

i have way too much of a videogame backup; i have Xenosaga sitting around, i only played for 1 hour to get to the first save point, and its just sitting by my PS2....
