yeah, be careful if you use gameshark codes to give you all the items. it tends to crash the game. thats my biggest warning.

I think there were 3 faq about tales of destiny the last time i checked (i used it once to pass a dungeon i cant remember) One is a total spoiler, containing a list of all the dialogs. But there is one that is ok, it doesnt contain a single spoiler, so you wont have problems, just scam through them to find the good one

its almost impossible to not contain a spoiler. simply naming the boss you're fighting can spoil the game. which is why its always a nice idea to play one time through without one, but i've yet to do that if i had a choice.

but you can say that the battle system is very different from any RPG... though too much random battle annoyed me... so my brother is the one that finished it...

its not THAT bad. i've seen far worse, and its not always childish. but it is not as serious as i'd like it to be. but it is a good game, none the less.

You could always use Holy Bottles to disminish the random battle events... still i like the battle system so much that i never got annoyed by the battles

actually ToD is my favorite game
