Elemental Temple of Evil

Anyone ever hear of this one? It's brand new at Frys and I was wondering what it was about. I may have to go and check it out myself.

Re: Elemental Temple of Evil

Is this the game you're talking about? I haven't heard of it before, and there isn't a lot of info about the game there (mainly release dates).

Yup, that is it. As you said, not much information there. I'll probably go over to Fry's and check it out. Thanks for the help n_w95482.

Just checked Gamerankings, there's one review available for that game: 4 out of 5 stars, from Gamespy.

Re: Elemental Temple of Evil

Thanks Badaro. This looks to be a game that I might definately be interested in. I'm going to go "check it out" at Fry's tomorrow. Then I just might purchase it. It was designed by the same company that produced Arcanum. I'll let you know what I think.

Re: Elemental Temple of Evil

How come you guys have never heard of it? I've been waiting this game for ages ! There are some really cool traillers out there, the game kinda plays like a mix of Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights using a really good-looking 2D engine =D

Well, I picked up this game up today and it looks absoulutely fabulous. It is also a DX 9 game, it actually requires DX 9 to play. You don't have DX 9 installed, you don't play this game. It also features turn-based combat (not dynamic or real time which I don't particularly care for) and is based on the offical D&D 3.5 edition rules. I'm really looking forward to this one. Thanks again for all the info and help.
sincerely,

Re: Elemental Temple of Evil

hmmm... so i guess it kind of plays like ruins of myth drannor... not a good thing, mind you.
although, this game DID get good reviews while ruins did not, so they must have done it right. being a D&D fan, i'll probably get it... someday... when its really cheap.

too many to explain. just know that it's good stuff.
i mean, why else would people play the non-graphical adventure they call "role playing"?

Re: Elemental Temple of Evil

I ahve this game and i absolutely love it...i spent an hour just making my party alone...though it does play like ruins of myth drannor i love the combat because it gives you time to think about what your doing (hence-turn based)...graphics are a bit sluggish but overall one of the best D&D games i've played so far...icewind dale was cool too...its a bit hard...only because i always run right into combat

Re: Elemental Temple of Evil

...I've played many computer versions of RPGs based on D&D rules and covering popular fantasy worlds/campaigns, like Forgotten Realms, Dragonlance, Ravenloft, Dark Sun, Spelljammer, Al-Quadim, Birthright, Planescape, etc. ...but I think this is the first time the world of Greyhawk is covered by a computerized adaptation.

I think I'll be getting it, too... does anyone know when a European release is due ?

i think those are more of a side effect.
and no, WoW won't be based off D&D.

ruins of myth drannor wasn't TOO bad, its just that sometimes you were so freaking far from the bad guys, it took 10 minutes just to get to them.

Re: Elemental Temple of Evil

yea...ruins of myth drannor wasn't my fav...that's why i didn't buy it...played a buncha multiplayer icewind dale though with my friend...gotta love that game...i really wanna play baulders gate 2 because i hear how good it is...the engine they built this game on is amazing but a bit sluggish when scrolling...

and i don't need to get laid...but i'm also not a frequent D&D'er

Re: Elemental Temple of Evil

we all need to get laid at some point, just depends on your priorities in life.
BG2 is great, but don't try playing that one in multiplayer.
the only ones left for me to play are icewind dale 2 and NWN.
and i actually finished ruins of MD... i almost killed myself...
