which is better Parasite Eve or Resident Evil ?

well i liked them both but for me parasite eve 2 and resident evil 2 rock .


while i hated RE survivor games (so i removed them from the poll - well they rn't a survivor horror as much as a fps)

I voted for Resident Evil 0, based upon the wording of your poll. It sort of irked me doing so, as I like Parasite Eve 1 a lot more. But Parasite Eve is NOT survival horror. It's a cinematic horror RPG... They are completely different genres at any rate.

Resident Evil 0 is simply the best survival horror I have played thus far.

EDIT: Parasite Eve 2 was survival horror, but that game sucked more than a newborn baby.

Square didn't continue Parasite Eve I THINK because Parasite Eve 2 was almost universally hated. There are a couple of people who like it, but I consider it to be a huge flop.

cloud, Parasite Eve 1 was an RPG. It had an RPG combat system, and well... it was an RPG. Resident Evil is the classic example of a survival horror game. It's NOT an RPG. You control the main character directly, and you waste zombies. There's no level building, or all that other RPG stuff.

so why pe1 only isn't survival horror .

Well pe2 wasn't bad it was awesome and i don't know one who hated it that much , while they hated games like Dino crisis .

but if that is true i think i'm gonna submit a thread 'bout parasite eve in square enix site message board .
just to know if there r many fans or not so square can make the 3rd part .

Hey, I am all for making Parasite Eve 3. Just so long as they make it in the style of Parasite Eve 1, and not the god-awful Parasite Eve 2.

Parasite Eve 2 was survival horror because you had direct control over the character at all times. The levelling up system was not emphasized, and it just wasn't an RPG damnit! I have no better explanation than that.

Btw, I don't think creating a thread in Square-Enix's forum is going to help matters much. For what it's worth though, there was a rumor a long time back that Square was going to make a remake of Parasite Eve for GCN and PS2. They are announcing a new game at TGS this month, so place your bets now.

I've got serious expectations on RE4 and the definetely RE5(It has to be a RE5).
From the list I'd vote RE0 currently the best of the RE saga, by much RE0 beats RECVX or RE2 which I like them both a lot too.
I'd add SH and Clock Tower althought I've not played Clock Tower yet but I'm looking forward to play Clock Tower 3.
About PE, well PE1 is awesome, PE2 is a mixture of RE style with elements of the precuel, hey I liked PE2 and Elly(Kingstar) too IIRC Ninja

Other people have played them though. They would be good to add. I would still put my vote down for Resident Evil 0, but I can see where someone might want to vote for either Silent Hill 1 or 2.

Alone in the Dark should also be there for starting the whole thing, and I suppose Dino Crisis has its fans as well.

IMO lots of series are missing on the poll REs just aren't what they used to be... just add Clock Tower 3, D2 and Eternal Darkness (well close to survival horror, but damn good)...
