Ridge Racer vs Screamer vs Sega Rally vs Daytona

as promised (since RR in the other poll was no match for NFS), here's a poll between 'everything' except NFS and GT

I wanted to add them, but then there's no end to the series I can include, I realised. RR, SR, Daytona and Screamer series all share (arcade) similarities which other series do not..

daytoooona let's go away!!! lol i played that game to death, trying to beat records and perfect all tracks, but i only played it on my saturn oh it was good.

as for the game , loved it. especially in the arcades of course, but despite being pretty bad the pc ports did manage to capture some of the feeling.

Play it man! It's not as good as Screamer 2 or Rally, but it still rox.
Screamer all the way. It was the first racing game that ever grabbed me by the balls, pulled them up over my head and said 'play me'. I never got that kinda feeling with basicaly any other racing game.

seriously, yes, the Screamer series were awesome. but all of the 4 series in the above poll are favourites of mine...just too bad that the screamer games work so bad on my current computer.

Though choice... but I'll go for Daytona, no game can match the supreme feeling of speed that a head to head race between you and 7 more persons gives you

Second would be Screamer, but in my PC (W98) doesn't work either so I haven't played the game since 1998

RR for me. Considering the improvements over the years it's unfair for the other series
Sega Rally was close second. I like Sega, and I like Rally. If it wasn't for the refinement of RR, this would get my vote.
I haven't played Screamer all that much (since Dos days). Perhaps I shall try again.
Daytona? I agree with you Samor. It's a surprise. It was a good replacement for the Virtua Racing crowd. Not bad a game itself. But I really wouldn't pit it against those much bigger series.

Well I own the original RR for ps and I've played daytona usa on both saturn and in the arcades and sega rally in the arcades (demo version on saturn), and I've rented RR5 (which was lots of fun) but I've never played screamer. What is the game like? I can't decide between RR, sega rally and daytona usa (I wish there was a 3 sided penny ). I'll vote later when I can make up my mind.

Daytona? I agree with you Samor. It's a surprise. It was a good replacement for the Virtua Racing crowd.

Ah I remember the days where I would rent virtua racing almost every weekend for my genesis (haven't tried 32x version). I rented it probably about 8 times total. They should do a modern remake of it or rerelease it along with a bunch of other genesis games .

think I'll just wait for some other solution...

I lack components to build a decent "old-skool" pc and I don't have the room for it either, neither do I want to spend a dime on it....

look at it this way: for years I haven't been able to run Test Drive 3 and Grand Prix Unlimited, and Pinball Dreams and Fantasies weren't exactly the easiest to start either; now they're all emulated through dosbox...

btw. Sega Rally still at 0 votes? *me am shocked...
