since JK2:jedi acadamy isnt out yet, i was wondering when it DOES come out, which would you guys rather get, Jedi Academy or Knights of the old Republic? Both games honsetly look VERY good IMO. but my MAIN problem with knights of the old republic is that it has no multiplayer Does anyone have this, is it good?

Re: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy Or Knights of the old republic?

Knights of the Old Republic IS available for the X-Box right now... it's gotten great reviews so far. From what I've read it sounds like my kind of game. Looks like Bio-Ware is back in true form. Don't get me wrong, JK2 looks really cool as well, but I've been itching for a really good PC RPG for a long time.

Re: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy Or Knights of the old republic?

PC release date is already scheduled for early October... if you meant ported to GC or PS2 then I dunno... I doubt that will happen. This game will be awesome on PC... both Gamespot and IGN said the only thing even close to a "weakness" was the GFX, and with some tweaking and optimization for PC, the graphics will look far better.

Re: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy Or Knights of the old republic?

If KOTR gets ported you can expect that its gonna be REAL buggy. as to which most lucas arts pc games tend to be for some reason. which is why im glad an Xbox but being ported to ps2. i doubt that would happen, if they where gonna port it they wouldve ported JK2: jedi outcast along time ago.

ummm, JK2 was ported to Gqamecube and Ps2. In all honesty, no consle can do the game justice. it, like all FPS style games, is made for a mouse, period.

Re: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy Or Knights of the old republic?

I totally agree. I think some games are meant for PC and some are meant for consoles.

Not exactly. It depends on what the game was made on. I mean, Jedi Outcast would always be better for PC, but games like Bloodrayne, which was made for the consoles first, would always belong better on the consoles.

It really just depends, if you ask me.

Re: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy Or Knights of the old republic?

I think ALL games are better on the PC. What is better on a console? Graphics and sound are what games are all about, and both are better on the PC. Saying that the console joypad is the reason why a game is better for a console is just stupid. Like I said in another post, EVERY PC gamer should have a quality gamepad, they're very cheap, and they allow you to play any type of game. With a gamepad AND with a keyboard/mouse combo it offers multiple forms of control that a console could never give. Not to mention on a PC games can be patched, upgraded, modded, etc.

Re: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy Or Knights of the old republic?

i have to agree with rhombus' post above, ive always wondered why so many people would rather buy all these consoles and say how much better they are when... the consoles themselves were made by computers! how can they exceed computers? not to mention the fact that once youve got a console youre stuck with it, no improvements, the games can take the console's power to the limits but once theyre reached thats it, on the other hand pcs are frequently upgraded

anyways, i really liked JK1 although i havent played 2 yet so i wouldnt know bout that, and knights of the old republic looks like a good game, and ive heard lots of good things about it, guess ill vote for the latter

Re: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy Or Knights of the old republic?

Consoles can be better if you have a weak computer or often do background tasks on your PC..... or if they make a weak port (like Enter the Matrix)

ummm, the Xbox version was weak too...lol
Actually, xbox to PC ports are exactly the same. Very little porting has to be done.

Regarding Enter the matrix being a weak port, i think the game was weak within it self. just good matrix cutscenes

Re: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy Or Knights of the old republic?

Well I was dissapointed with the lack of special effects in cutscenes, the slowness for the crap quality....

Re: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy Or Knights of the old republic?

the thing that ticked me off about it was how small it was. the only scene i found incredebly funny was
SPOILER: Highlight text to view.
when niobie had to make out with that french chick so she can find ghost after she was captured. i dont remeber the name of that chick exactly though..

Re: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy Or Knights of the old republic?

Actually,
Jedi Academy = JK3
Jedi Outcast = JK2
well you know... Anyway, I picked JK3 simply because I like the new republic better than the old one (and the empire rules, literally ).
But you know what, if you're looking for a new SW FPS, you have a third choice, Republic Commando (http://www.lucasarts.com/press/releases/74.html). Gotta wait longer tho.

Same as me .I bought PS2 console cause I can't stand upgrading my PC to play this day games (all have high performance including Geforce FX is out now) .And one more thing ,console games have much better playing rate than all PC games .
