Youve been in a coma ehh.

If im right, psx/2 (PS2) was released a 2-4 years ago.

Unless this is a completly new console, then im wrong and you are right.

Re: psx/2 release in the U.S. ?

I think what he meant was the new PSX, IIRC it's a PS2 combo with hardisk and dvd burning, basically an entertainment center for your living room.

I don't know the release date tho...

Thats possible, but he didnt mentioned it clearly. About DVD burner, I don't think so, check this out :

The new model (50000) allows you to play DVD-R, DVD-RW, R+, and RW and support progressive scan for DVD movies as well as videogames.
Its said to play DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW, not burning.

Re: psx/2 release in the U.S. ?

With all of that extra stuff it probably will cost at least $400 . Guess I'll stick to my normal ps2 (old scph-30001 model).

Yup DW that is exactally what he was referring to. Quite a machine the PS 2.5. There was thread on these forums about this upcoming machine a while back also. The PS 2.5 is designed to fill the Gap between the PS2 and PS3. Only time will tell if it is worth it or not.
sincerely,

Question

Raiden1803 the PS 2.5 IS the machine to which you are reffering. DW is correct. That is what it is going to be called: PS 2.5
