Re: Grandia II
Grandia 2 is great, esp. concerning the characters
The only thing that bothered me is the shortness of the game (30hours to see the end) and also the lack of movement liberty (no planet map as in other games, just a simple 2d map, and you click on the place you have to go to)

Re: Grandia II
Extreme is a dungeon crawler, the only appealing thing of the game is its battle engine other than that... well, where's the fun on a Grandia game if it lacks story ?
The music was nice though, if you want to try it you'll be best renting it, it's one of those games that I don't consider worth buying it... |

Re: Grandia II
The Dreamcast got Grandia II, which was later ported to the PS2. If that's what you asked... they are exactly the same, I've heard that the PS2 version features slightly better movies, but if you want an improved version then just get the PC one.

Re: Grandia II
Of course it's called the same, it's a port after all... IIRC it came after the PS2 release of Grandia II, there are 1 or 2 threads with pics of the game on the game screenshot section.

Re: Grandia II
I havent play Xtreme myself. I have finnished th PC port of Grandia 2, liked it, but I must agree with Killjoy, its too short and easy, I finnished the whole thing in less than 30 hours
>> lol..the PC version of Grandia II is out long long ago..seems to be like history..I got it anyway Isnt the Grandia2 game itself is old? Does it really matter?

Re: Grandia II
Well... I have Grandia 1 & 2.. imo, Grandia 2 is the best between these two... I don't know anything about extreme, though...

Grandia II came out originally on the DreamCast before it made it to the PS 2. That is how long it has been around. Grandia II for PS2 is the same as Grandia II for DreamCast and Grandia II for PC (which was released just last year, 2002) is a direct port of Grandia II for PS2.
Grandia is for the PSX and is nothing like Grandia II, at least to me it isn't. The hero (you) is a boy named Justin who, along with his sister Sue and her "pet?" Puffy (I think that is it's name) gets into some very interesting adventures. More than that, I really don't know since I have the game, but have not gotten very far in it yet. It seems like a very very nice game. Also, if you really want to enjoy Grandia to it's fullest, I suggest that you try it on one of the emulators with enhanced graphics. That is the way Grandia really looks the best. sincerely, sx/amiga |

Re: Grandia II
Yup, in OGL, it almost looks like Xenogears with a bit less details
