Question Morrowind plugins

I've just borrowed Morrowind from a friend and was checking the official site for patches when I found this page with "plug-ins" for the game (http://www.elderscrolls.com/index.ph...rect.htm&bg=05).
Are these plug-ins like mission packs? Do I have to finish the game to play them or they just add these missions to the game so I can play them just like a normal quest?

Re: Morrowind plugins

they are just general quests, tweaks, monsters and such...they could be just about anything...i downloaded some that added new quests...i downloaded some that made monsters weaker, stronger, or less common to show up...they just do stuff like that

Re: Morrowind plugins

try the "eternal blue sky" -plugin (dunno the official name) That appeals to me the most and gives you damn good feeling.

Re: Morrowind plugins

remember to get the marksman mod and the merchant mod that gives all merchants 10x more money, otherwise youre gonna spend about 10 days everytime you wanna sell a pair of adamentite boots

Re: Morrowind plugins

Wouldn't it be considered as cheating? I hate cheats

Re: Morrowind plugins

it isnt cheating, its not like it makes em give you more money, it just saves you 10 days of resting 24 hours so that you can see your items

say for example theres a trader in town with 1000 gold
you wanna sell a pair of armor worth 4500
this means youve got a problem since he doesnt have that much, so you buy some of his cheaper items, maybe a few 1000 gold armor pieces... then you rest 24 hours, sell one of em, rest another 24 hours, sell another, and again on more time... now instead of being incredibly annoyed after spending 3 hours (real time) selling your inventory loot why not just use the mod so you dont have to waste all that time? i personally dont see any problems with that

Re: Morrowind plugins

i just play this game after feeling dizzy playing Arx Fatalis(anyone?),morrowind is a game of freedom, but being too free make me screw all the quest which quest for which person merchant and speechcraft skill made life easier, the 1st time i play i use imperial ranger emperial is a balance one i think! Now i play two character, orc fighter,i ignore magic completely but increase willpower to overcome spell, and the other is sorcerer(i think sorcerer is powerful and can kill foes in short time but i hate when get caught in melee or trying to escape from a fight, sorcerer really suck at this!

Re: Morrowind plugins

yeah, the official ES website doesn't have all that many (probably because they wanted to add it to their expansions). but, there are a bunch of fan made ones. although i don't use any unofficial plugins, i know someone who said the GIANTS plugin is supposed to be pretty good.

Thanks so much for the news Omegainf. I've bookmarked the page and I'll be downloading some soon and trying them out. Especially since I now have my GF FX 5900 (non ultra) card. Looks like it's time for some more Morrowind.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

Re: Morrowind plugins

OMG! Is everybody on this board getting a GFFC5900??? Poor me The water doesn't look nearly as good on my machine as it looks on these newer cards
Anyway, the game runs fine with all settings (except shadows) set to max and even with Ansio on (no fsaa, of course) =D I'm really enjoying this game, thank God my vacations just started 'cos this one is those kind of "life-stealing" games The only drawback (untill now) is that there are LOTS of text to read and LOTS of weird names that I never know if I should take a note about them or not :/

Edit:

This plug-in looks cool, it adds a new story named "Children of the Night" http://207.218.238.124/modules.php?n...owcontent&id=5

Re: Morrowind plugins

Just be sure to have a higher end system, or else you'll get nothing but crappy fps. BTW, www.tweaktown.com has a very good Morrowind optimization guide if you are having fps problems.

P.S. Sorry if I'm not supposed to post links to other sites. Feel fee to delete it if needed.

Re: Morrowind plugins

Thanks for the link! I get about 30fps on Morrowind but it's fully playable with no noticeable slow-downs at all

You can post links to other sites but not for those with improper content
Welcome to the board and feel free to post But I suggest you to read our board rules.

Re: Morrowind plugins

Oh, I'm an oldie as far as the boards go. I've been gone for a while with a few family problems to deal with and there've been a few problems with my old user name "ShadySaiyan" plus I think I've outgrown that name so I made a new one, but I've e-mailed a few admins about it. As far as the rules go I'm a little foggy so I'll probably scan through them again.

BTW: Thx for the welcome back!

Re: Morrowind plugins

speaking of quests, if you plan on using the journal a lot, you might want to pick up Tribunal to get the new and impoved journal. i suppose there could be a fan released plugin that does the same.

Re: Morrowind plugins

If you go to tho official forums at www.elderscrolls.com "Mods" section there is a sticky thread that has links to countless sites where you can download mods for this kicka** game.

WARNING: Be careful what you dl, some things can not only mess up your save games, But you might end up having to totally uninstall then reinstall to get the problems fixed.

Well hope that this helps a few of you out. Thank me later if you want.
