Steam is annoying. I want seperate patches. Even tho I have a l33t ADSL connectoin, I'd be pissed off a treat havingto download patches for all my games every time I re-install my machine/the game.

I agree, STEAM is crappy... but for now it's the only the CS fans can play cs1.6

meh, being beta and all, i won't waste my time with it, nevermind the steam issue. not to mention 400mb is a huge jump in the file size. what could they have added that would be so big?

It contains all the HL shared files...
that way you don't need HL to play it, since it's a standalone beta

As I said it contains the shared files, such as the sounds, sprites, and generic stuff but it can't be used to play HL... anyway, the format isn't the same... it's a big package that is decrypted by Steam

Concerning the final version, it's supposed to be released late in september, and should normally be available as an HL mod

I tried it and if it would tell me when its downloading, how far the downloads are and when its done i'de freagin use it...but nope...IMO it's not worth it just for a stupid riot sheild
