CloneCD or Alcohol 120%.

But if your CDs are scratched, there's not much you can do about it.

It doesn't matter if you can rip them. The problem is how will you modify the calls of the game to a specific cd to make the game work?

CloneCD do not handle DVD disc. IIRC it only copy 1:1 CD to CD.

Well, I don't know what he meant ... for sure. But if he want to merge it into DVD version of FFVII, which is not even released by Eidos / Squaresoft, then it's AFAIK impossible.

Nero is good for compilation CD / DVD [newer version of Nero], but FFVII won't work if it merged into 1 DVD disc. It will ask to insert disc II, III and IV. You need to hack the game instead.

Alcohol 120% for CD / DVD backup 1:1, CD to CD / DVD to DVD, not for merging.

Short of all : I don't know how, I'm just sure that it wont work, AKA possible.

Re: FF7 (PC) putting all 4 CDs on 1 DVD?

hmm... would it work alright if they weren't in ISO form? just basically all stuffed on 1 dvd the way they look on CD? because it will find the correct files on the DVD. i don't know, it'd be neat to try if i had a dvd burner.

Re: FF7 (PC) putting all 4 CDs on 1 DVD?

I think maybe if you took all the data and put it in folder like CD1, CD2, ETC ... and then when it asks to insert next cd just find the directory like E:CD2/ blah blah and I think that would workout. Dont know for sure but sounds workable to me ..

Re: FF7 (PC) putting all 4 CDs on 1 DVD?

FFVII ask for CD ROM when the game change disc, that's for sure. I'm afraid you need to modified the exe files, which mean hacking into the code to patch it so it it will search on the same media / drive [DVD disc], not looking into other DVD disc / drive ... and I don't know how

AFAIK the "patch" available only to run CD R / backups, not to change it into other media / drive.

FFVII, will ask you to insert the second disc / third disc / fourth disc ... without giving you any chance to browse. It will detect from where you start it. If you're using CD ROM in drive D, then you must put it into drive D.

Re: FF7 (PC) putting all 4 CDs on 1 DVD?

and theres no chance it would accept it if you were to just copy over the CD files to the DVD? to FF7, it'll just be a regular CD with extra stuff on it. in theory, i don't see why it would work. putting it in folders wouldn't work, but putting it exactly how it normally is sounds possible.

Re: FF7 (PC) putting all 4 CDs on 1 DVD?

The only way I can think on is to stick the disc images on the DVD and use Daemon Tools/CloneCD/Alcohol to mount them to a virtual drive.

Oh okay. I didnt know that. Most of my games have a browse function so you can find the next file it needs along woith the rest. Too bad though. It would of worked great!

oh yeah, thats a possibility too. but you have to agree, it'd be way more convenient to have it run normally off the cd.

I think this is the only option available [and also the one possible] same as Exodus try to explain. Make the image CD with CloneCD / Alchohol 120% [3 images for game] and burn it with Nero compilation CD as normal data. Mount it with Daemon Tools and ... I don't know it works or not.

No a chance at all, except you modified the game exe files.

am i being thick, but couldnt you simply rip the three cds as isos, and then dump the three isos onto the dvd, and then use epsxe or some other emulator which lets you run a game from an iso, and run the game from one of the three isos on the disk? i dont really see what the problem is, although now that you mention it, i tried ripping disk one of ff7 to pc, and it seemed to work, but i couldnt get it to work at all so i just gave up and ill still play that on my trusty psx, and i have all of the gamesaves on that anyway. all my other games worked...

but if you use an emulator which lets you run the game from an iso, you wouldnt have to use daemon tools to mount them, you could simply run them from the disk as you would run them from your hdd.

This is about FFVII PC version. Well, the question is how to dump it? As it's been mentioned before, the second disc will ask for third DISC, not files. And how the hack it browse the files, since it ask for disc? And about Daemon Tools, you're right, but I'm still not sure if Nero can write CloneCD/Alcohol 120% ISO exactly as they were created.

I was unaware that FF7 came out on PC. Does it have nicer graphics than the PSX version?
