Re: Hmm Half Life 2...

I think a 2 Ghz machine with a Radeon 9500 Pro should do fine.

Re: Hmm Half Life 2...

rather take it one slow frame at a time, than turn down the graphics, eh? luckily, i set the graphics down right away when i play a newer game. don't want to submerge myself in more reasons to buy a new PC.

Most PCs sold today will run pretty much any game you need it to. Hell, even old(er) PCs will run today's games. You just have to realize that you can't play everything with all the eye candy and special goodies enabled. Get used to it.

Re: Hmm Half Life 2...

I don't think HL2 will need uber-l33t0 g/cards. I'm guessing a ti4200/8500 might just do it for ppl who just wanna get a feel of the game.

Re: Hmm Half Life 2...

to run it pretty, it'll just be a geforce3. they wouldn't be foolish enough to release anything that would use only the highest end systems available on the market. my pc will probably run it on ugly mode.

Re: Hmm Half Life 2...

HL2 should be playable with a 800mhz CPU and GF2, at a reasonnable framerate, but low details...
I hope it will at least work in medium details on my comp :/

Re: Hmm Half Life 2...

Except that HL2 will need something more powerful than that... and look at my gfx card, it's MX, not Ti nor FX

Re: Hmm Half Life 2...

HL2 _will_ run on a tnt2 500mhz machine. If you want to be prepared for it. Ditch your geforce2's and 4mx's and get atleast a gf3ti/ Radeon 9xxx. Then you will be happy.

Re: Hmm Half Life 2...

not only that, but that high a res isn't even needed, you lose FPS just for higher numbers.
