well i can't post a link to this article because of the content on the site but heres what it says...

Quote:

"Lack of multiplayer is a temporary issue with Unreal2." This statement, posted on the Ataricommunity.com forums belongs to Epic's Vice President Mark Rein.
The multiplayer part of Unreal 2 had to be dropped, even though it had gone through a considerable part of the development process, in order to avoid delays and glitches during the UII launch. As a result multiplayer focus fell on Unreal Tournament 2003 which, after all is a multiplayer only game.
Mr. Rein also added Legend are currently reviving their XMP design for mulitplayer and it will be released as a FREE downloadable add-on for people who own Unreal2.

Since then Atari have gone on to confirm the project and to announce their support and backing towards Epic. No details of the time of release have been announced yet.

Yea I just played the demo and loved it so much. Of course I had to put all settings at low but hey ... Ill be doing same as you dhkimboa, Just wait for release then buy the game.

And Carnage just get Getright and if the download messes up you can pause it or continue it from where it left off. Very handy tool. That all I used because I was sick of restarting my downloads every time the would freez up.

yup...in unreal 2 multiplayer i hope they add something besides ust dethmatch and capture the flag...they need to make it unique because unreal 2 wasn't all that special...to me it was just your average FPS with good graphics

well then why would anyone buy 2004? and they'd have to add a bunch more stuff considering there were no ridable vehicles in U2...though in one mission there were depoyable force fields and turrts...

Whew. This thread is old. Well I'm reviving it because there is a Demo now available for download! Unreal II Multiplayer Download!!! Ill try and get some more links for you guys but if you are a gamespot members, Free or paid you can download it Here
