Counter-Strike problem

This thread is for my friend who's having problems with Counter-Strike. He installed Half-Life, then installed the Counter-Strike mod but upon running it it comes up with the following error:

could not load library c:/sierra/cstrike/cl_dlls/client

Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it? I'd much appreciate any help you can give me.

reinstall it...client normally is the program...at least as far as i know

he dl'ed the wrong counterstrike version, there's one for the retail counterstrike and another for the half-life mod

will counterstrike boot or not at all, if it boots and wont load any games update your half-life

yea...make sure you get the latest half-life patch...just about every place on the internet has it...i like 3dgamers myself...but choose a site at your own will

I was wondering if the latest patch for the seperate version of cs was 1.0.0.5 becuz I can't get the updater program to work.

uninstall EVERYTHING...go here

download the one that says English retail full v1.1.1.0 patch

install the patch...then go here...

and download from one of the servers...(im assuming you have the english version) and then install it and it should work...

Ahhhh that issue strikes again... you just need to upgrade CS to the latest version 1.1.1.0 (the patch is like 82 MB) then apply the full version of CS 1.5 (120+ MB)... that should be enough (it worked for me and for alot of ppl who had the same issue)...

I think he just didn't upgrade his Half-Life. I kind of suspected it was something like that; last time I installed Half-Life and Counter-Strike I had to patch the game first. He told me the upgrade program wouldn't work so I instructed him to manually download the latest version of Half-Life but I didn't gave him a URL. I guess he never found it. I instructed him to download the full mod so he should have the correct Counter-Strike mod. I think it's just his Half-Life that needs fixing. I'll give him the URL for the patch and see if it fixes things up. Thanks for all your replies.

[edit] Heh, Kaiser posted just before I did. I guess that really is the issue, he just needs to upgrade his game.

yeah, thats been covered already. if you would have read more than the first post, you would have realized that Demi got his answer.
