Does it have old cards and art from Alpha and Beta in it?

err it's online you download the client, or demo as they call, and then you buy the cards to play, it's like normal magic, you have to buy cards to play, not the game. you can exchange your virtual cards for real cards if you want, play in tournaments and all the stuff you can do in real life , so just search for the "demo" and get it if you want the game.

Greetings,

So it's like the real-life Magic the Gathering, where you have to buy your cards?? They're trying to get our money every way... But the game looks good (even the artwork). I'll take a look later.

Live long and prosper.

yup, you have to buy online. you'll only play with the ones you got. you get them through the client i guess, the artwork is the same as the real cards, you can get i closer look at them if you want and it has an organizer to sort through all the cards.

Greetings,

The gameplay and artwork looks good, but the part about buying each card isn't any good (it'll be too expensive). Guess I'll have to continue using "Apprentice" to play Magic the Gathering online (it has no artwork, and the gameplay is all manual, but it has all the cards, and I don't need to buy anything).

Live long and prosper.

MtGO doesn't have any AI at all, so it'll always be manual. i much prefer the non-original MtG, but sadly, they opted to not keep releasing expansions with the new sets. but i guess it makes sense since that would be a lot of scrpiting. but, if what caipirinha said is correct about exchanging your virtual cards for real cards, then its not bad at all, assuming you'd be buying cards in real life.
hmm... also, its too bad some MtG enthusists don't make home made mods for the offline game that have the new cards...

Greetings,

Yeah, the part about exchanging the virtual cards is good, but I don't buy them anymore. I've bought many Magic cards when I was 16, but they aren't very fun anymore (but I haven't lost my interest completely, and that's why I like playing MtG online).
And buying such cards on the web will be very expensive for a brazilian.
And I agree with you about MtG enthusiasts releasing patches and mods for the off-line game.

too bad i don't know any sort of programming, otherwise i'd do something like that. i have enough cards i could scan it. i stopped buying them at aroung the same age you did. after that i just played with the ones i already had. but i only had one friend who played it, so they didn't get very much play time.

Greetings,

Same for me. I don't know anything about programming, and besides I don't have the spare time. I've a lot of cards too, but no one to play with, so I must resort to online gaming.

My friend gave me her name and password because she doesn't have time to play this game anymore. I should really re-download this game.

It's not confusing at all. It's pretty easy to get the hang of it. I tried playing the magic card game with some of my friends but I couldn't understand some of the stuff but the online version helped me understand the whole game.

Greetings,

Yu-gi-oh sucks. Magic is a lot better. And the worst is that this card game craze is spreading all over RPGs. The only thing that they really do is add gaming time (but at least it was fun playing FF8 card game).
