whats the name of that game?

can somebody help me identify a game? i played along time ago on my friends psx and it was in jap so i dont know the name. it was a robot game VERY much like the front mission games.u took turns moving the robots on the battle field and it played like a tactical rpg like final fantasy tactics and front mission. u moved the robots from above but when atacking u moved into first person perspective to chose what to do. i have no idea what the name or the story was since it was in jap but i remember liking it. does this ring a bell anybody?

sounds exactly like front mission 3. that's my only guess, but you already know its not that one.
and you have no idea who might have made it?
well, you can go here http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/list_str.html and go through the monsterous list which will probably include the game.

its not fm3 but theres a slight chanse that its fm2. did anyone play it? the most important clue that i remember is that when u atack or defend u get a first person view

nope. never. unlikely that it ever will.... too bad... the only front mission game to make it to north america was fm3

well, that wasn't translated by Squaresoft, so it shouldn't really count. but maybe we'll get to the point someday of being able to translate PSX games (unless they can already, in which case, nevermind what i just said

maybe if we bug square enough we could get them to release a port of fm1 for psx and then translate fm2 and fma finally. i loved fm1 even though i played it before the patch came out. didnt understand the story but the game played real nice. also loved fm3 and i wants more ><* fma is the one that interests me the most tho.

technically it's been possible for a while...
the game 'cotton - fantastic night dreams' (or something like that) was translated...given, it wasnt a big translation, but it's possible.

but i guess it doesn't happen as much for PSX games. i'll assume thats true because PSX games aren't as easy to... obtain as SNES ones and they figure not enough people would import them or something. either that, or its really hard to do

i dont know how hard it is but if someone told me hes gona translate i could get him any psx (or any other platform game for that matter).....theoreticly ofcourse....

I think Front Mission 1 has been translated by "unofficial" translation groups a while back. You can play it on an emulator if you want (I saw it at a friend's house). "Unofficial" translations are quite excellent these days provided you own the original Japanese cart and other legal BS stuff.

ye i know i passed fm1 and bahabut lagoon on the snes and both were translated better then most offcial translations.
