And to think there are still people in this world thinking they can play all their life with just one game (zelda, anyone?)

Don't forget about Sony's new handheld....

http://www.gamepro.com/sony/domestic...ws/29326.shtml

At Sony's pre-E3 press conference Tuesday morning, the company shocked the industry with the announcement of a new handheld system to challenge the Game Boy Advance. The new unit, called the PSP (PlayStation Portable), will be released in 2004 in honor of the 10th anniversary of the original PlayStation.

Featuring a widescreen 16:9 backlit LCD screen with a resolution of 480 x 272 pixels, the PSP will use a new disc format called UMD. The disc will be 60 millimeters, half the size of a DVD, but hold 1.8 GB—three times the storage capacity of a CD-ROM.

The entire unit will be built on a one-chip solution, so one processor will control the graphics, sound, everything! It will feature built-in stereo speakers, a stereo headphone jack, and a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. The PSP will also support USB 2.0 for connecting with other PSPs and the PlayStation 2, and it will support 3D polygons, 3D curved surfaces, and the MPEG-4 video codec.

Ken Kutaragi, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc., made the announcement himself. Commonly referred to as the father of the PlayStation, Kutaragi said, "There's a new member of the family, and it's not the PlayStation 3. The baby is still in the incubator, but as the father I can look in the window and see his face, and he is very cute."

It may look like mgs 2 because its still ps2. The graphics are improved but dont spect too much of the ps2 right now. Anyway the most important thing is the gameplay and the plot, dont you think so?

I didnt say it looked like mgS 2...like MG2

allthough it does seem to be an improved version of the same engine....actually from a technical pov. it's not so weird they're not planning to port this one over....

oh...it looked a bit similar...

anyway; if you see the slowdowns that occured with porting mgs2 to other platforms; I guess with MGS3 it would be an even bigger problem...

I doubt it will be released cross-platform this time, actually...besides, even if it happened it would take a year at minimum after the ps2 release ;P

ps2 is the big star of this year's e3, IMO... allthough the cube does good too....
the big dissapointing one is the xbox...

Did anybody see the EyeToy? That looks so funny!

It's basically a webcam that you could use to interact with games specifically for the webcam.

It looks like fun but the fun will probably wear out once you use it for a while. It doesn't look to have a lot of replay value.

Its not going to play ps2 games and ps1. Its going to have its own line of games. It uses 60mm discs. Thats like half the size of a PS2 one.But holds up to I think its 1.5 GB or something around there. It will be like GBA only better and with cd's! And 3D!
