Best Megaman X PSX game?

I am thinking about getting one of the Megaman X game for the PSX.

Which one is the best?

Mega Man X3 (If I'm not mistaken it never did it out of japan, I played the PC version) all the way, followed closely by MMX 5...

Megaman x4 is for me, its only the sequel that i feel being a sequel since MMX3.

IIRC he wasn't playable in X6 but he was in X5... X5 was probably the only real innovative MM since MMX...

Yea...i really wanna try 7 despite everything bad people in the forums ahve said about it and its "horrible" cell shading

Personally...i don't think it looks too bad but i wish it coulda stayed side scrolling even though part of it looks like it...

and my answer to the above question is X4...after X4 is just was the same crap over and over

I wish they made X7 with 3d backgrounds and 2d characters and still side scrolling kind of like Strider 2

It pretty much is 2d characters with 3d backgrounds but its 3d not side scrolling...but the cell shading makes them look 2d

I'll still play X&, its like what ppl said about Zelda: WW, but they forgot about the cel shading and was to involved with the game itself, thats what probably gonna happen

I'll play X7 when it comes out, but the graphics issue is different than the one of Zelda TWW... ZTWW got severe critics (from me too

) because it looked childish, but technically speaking it features great graphics. X7 features ugly ones really unfitting for a 128-bit game and since it comes from a company like Capcom you tend to expect better things...

From what I understand you can play X7 from a 2D and 3D perspective.

I like the X series better.

I am not too fond of the original series. Megaman is weak.
