o_O I hope Gamespot isn't trying to rip off its customers. I don't trust that till they get some images.

Hmm....imagine if we buy it, and they can't finish the game in time, and we sue Gamespot...how much you reckon we can get?

The Unreal engine is a progressive one (unlike the Quake engine). They build on the engine, improving it and adding more features to it. The current UT 2003 engine is actually a vastly improved version of the original Unreal engine. The engine version is determine by the build numbers. If they were to release UT 2004 (rather doubtful) it would be the UT 2003 engine with more features, not a completely new one.

???? this is strange because before the release one of the guys who made the game said the name of it would be ut2003 because they would give support releasing new maps and stuff for a long time, and he said they would be doing this so the game would last a long time past 2005, i donīt think this is true...

i think they are just drunk with success .. seeing how much UT2003 is loved , they are going to make another game to earn cash .. maybe its like an expension pack to 2003 or something .

But calling a ut2003 expansion as ut2004 is completely ridiculous.
ut2004 sounds more like a complete new game to me

maybe they're going for the sports type of sequels. a slight improvement here and there, a couple new features, but overall, its just the same.

Hey....makes sense..
After some thinking....Unreal Tournament and UT2003 didn't differ much too.... (from style, gameplay, etc etc)

That site is correct. The developers wanted to make yearly installments to this game like they do on sports games. More than likely, it will be UT2003 plus some maps, models, game modes, etc along with the newest patches.

Have we forgotten the main idea they stated before releasing UT2003 or even giving them the name of 2003 yet? Unreal Tournament is going to have an update or new release every year (or so they wanted) because they can improve or provide a new experience with some other crap. So 2004 coming this early isn't surprising to me, but expect it in the 1st or 2nd quarter of 2004 not in 2003 yet.

So, remember, this is what they wanted when they made 2003, to have a newer one every year, thus why they put 2003 in the title. Because if 2003 had anything to do with the game, the year is totally off
