Nokia N-Gage

I posted this here because this thing can play games and whatnot, but has anybody seen this thing? It's a cell phone/FM radio/mp3 player/game handheld. Now some of you are thinking that there's a whole bunch of phones that can play games but this one looks really different.

Check out the specs. Talk about a Swiss Army knife of electronis... man

http://www.n-gage.com/n-gage/gd_tech_spex.html

Sega and a whole bunch of people have signed for this. Can you imagine using this thing as a phone? It looks like you're talking on a handheld.

I AM going to get one when it comes out. Hopefully it operates on Symbian too so I can use GoBoy on it to play my GBC games.

Shiori, will it be possible to play Tokimemo on it? Your interest in it would seem unnatural if it wouldnt.
Im really interested in its music playing ability but I dont doubt that it will burn up my whole wallet. Not a chance for me I guess.

Yes, why? Youre not going to play games or listen to music 6 hours a day on that cellphone, right?

I can already play Tokimemo Pocket in my 7650 using GoBoy. If it works there, it's not all that impossible to use it in the N-Gage if it indeed runs on a Symbian platform as well.

Well...12si's lost all trust to Lithium-ion batteries ever since he started using Lithium-polymer on his T68.
Besides, with that miniscule screen (looks that way to me).....the 7650 is different as it's screen is huge.
Hmm....GoBoy....might wanna try it on my bro's 9210...

Dude, you sure? I'd save the $500 or so and get a new CPU if I were you.

EDIT: almost forgot. There was at least one thread about the N-Gage since it was first announced (a few mo ago?). ShadowDancer you should know to use the Search feature by now.

Sure, why not? My social life is more important than some CPU upgrade that's only going to be cutting-edge for 6 months.

heh, sorry to break it to you but the N-Gage is going to be "cutting-edge" for 1 week, and completely out of existence in a year after release... according to my prediction

Besides, I don't see how the N-Gage can improve your social life, if not degrade it. Maybe that's just me.

If you must, get a nice PDA, or even better a SmartPhone. Now that can definitely improve your social life, and it can be used for gaming as well.

That's what you think of it. What matters is what I think of it.

So I'm thinking... maybe it IS just you.

You think I'm some kind of newbie? I ALWAYS search before I make a thread or need something answered.

Anyways, I searched for "nokia" or "n-gage" and I got 35 pages of stuff for each. Then I searched for "gage" and I got an error that terms didn't match or something. Anyway find me the other thread and I'll apologize for making a redundant thread.

ShadowDancer,
Ok, sometimes the search can return bad results. You are correct that the search for "Nokia" or "N-Gage" returns rediculously large number of results. Sometimes you need to give just a little more; I did a search for "nokia phone" and it returned 16 results. The thread I had in mind last time was this one:
http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthre...ht=nokia+phone

Mmm ok I'm not gonna address to Shiori now.
I got another comment tho, not directed to anyone particularly. Most people I know play games on their phones because it does not look like a Gameboy. They don't have to look like a kid, carrying a little device just to play games, like an N-Gage. Even the GBAsp looks more mature for crying out loud
But then again, what it "looks like" depends solely on yourself and your friends.

But , IMO. Games are not necessary on handphones. Normally , while we are out hanging around with friends ( brought hp along of coz ) , we tend to talk to each other and enjoy the entertainment of the specific places, not sitting in one corner playing games ,
But , nice addition to a phone tho

Well, just imagine yourself, sitting alone in a corner, waiting for your never-on-time friends
Or when you're in a seriously boring tuition class
