bios dump?

Hi all,
This is my first contact with this forum.
I am new to all this so please put up with one or two stupid questions
I have downloaded PSXeven so my grand children can play a Playstation 2 Game but the readme tells me to "put a psx dump inside the PSXeven\bios directory
I am not to bad with puters but this one got me beat

Please someone explain what to do

Okay, what Xeven is talking about is a dump of the PSX bios (a bin file with a name like this, scph7502) and put in the file folder (included w/the emu) labled bios. the 7502 bios (scph7502) is the reccomended bios. It has proven to be the most compatable. Unfortunately, we can't tell you exactally where to go to get the bios file, since, technically, it is illegal to have it (unless you own an actual PSX with that bios in it). All I can tell is to go to www.google.com and do a search for psx bios. You should be able to find lots of sites that have the bios.
One other thing about your post, you said that you would like for your grandchildren to be able to play PS2 games. Did you actually mean PS2 or did you mean PSX (PSOne) instead? The reason I ask is because PS7 (Xeven's emu) only plays original PSX games as do all the PSX emulators out right now. There are no working PS2 emulators that play PS2 games, yet. PS2 emulators are being worked on, but right now all they play is demos and some loading screens. So if you are looking for a PS2 emulator, you are currently out of luck. But if you are looking for a PSX emulator, then PS7 should fill the bill nicely.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

Wow... two grandparents helping each other out. Now that is a first in NGEmu... certainly bridges the generation gap.

When you get the BIOS', you could also try ePSXe v1.5.2, and PCSx......but PSXeven is great as well!

quailo, no problem. I know I run my messages togther sometimes, but then I admit that I am not the greatest message composer in the world.
I hope you got the "jist" of what I said.
1. You need a PSX bios file
2. There is no "commercial game" playing PS2 emulator out, yet.
sincerely,
sx/amiga
