Maybe because it didn't sell nearly as well as it did on the PS2.

yep, i played the first onimusha on the ps2, it's the first game i had after purchasing my console. I agree that it was way too short finished the game in 14. hrs and the bad character voices, capcom is notorious for that specially on the r.e series. And may i ask are they cancelling upcoming onimusha games on the ps2???

This is all great, but what about us the PC fellows? I saw Onimusha at a friend's house and I really liked it... do I have to buy a PS2 to play it? (along with Xenosaga, Suikoden3, FFX and many others)

If your only purpose is to play the game, why wait for a working PS2 emulator that, undoubtedly, require some crazy-a$$ system config that may set you back.. uh I dunno... $1000 or so, when you can simply buy a PS2 and the game for less than $300?

Just putting things in perspective here.

Yeah if you don't mind waiting 1 or 2 years for the game to be ported to the PC

that would be dumb though, why spend the time and trouble programing it right, beta testing, and all that to make it right on PC. then your still not done, unless you put it on another system? forsay, X-box! cuz IMO. Spending all that time programing and **** will give people a major headach, and the game just might not cell as well on PC then it did on PS2, or X-box

Never! THPS3, GTA3 and many others had sooo bad PC ports...

The only game I would agree with you about is RUNE...because it was ported to PS2!

There are bad ports on PC (namely Square ones) however the ones you mentioned are excellent ports way better than the real thing...
GTA3 looks simply marvelous...

Square stopped making PC ports for FFIX and FFX not because they suck, but because FFVII and VIII didn't sell well and never attracted majority of PC gamers. Then they finished FFXI for PC/PS2 and sold in Japan. Looks better than EQ and has nice revenue as well.
