Serious Sam???

Hi, I played this game in a friend's house. Its realy great, the gameplay is superb and its violent... The thing is: I want to buy this game, but I don't know if it will work good on my computer. I have a P3 - 550, 128 mb RAm and a Voodoo 2. Anyone can help me?
And the second thing is: wich is better the first or the second? (I think my friend have the second one).

edit: By the way, I'm using Windows 98 SE.

I've played it on a PII350MHz and a Voodoo˛. I guess that it should run fine on your PC.

The first one will run on that system. The second one... I dunno. The second one is marginally better in some respects, but they are really about the same.

imo the second one is better, it has more variety, not just yellow yellow yellow .
it´ll run fine on your computer just low the settings a bit, and well have fun , the coop mode is just crazy we can play together anytime if i find my cd

SS2 is the same as SS1 only it has a couple more weapons and monsters and you fight in different types of areas. the second one is more like a stand alone expansion.

I agree with Exodus here. There was no plot in either, so that can't really compare. The graphics in 2 are slightly better (the grass looks nice, but that's about it), the sound is the same, but with a couple more funny quotes thrown in, the gameplay is identical more or less. The new weapons really don't add anything to the game. I barely ed them myself. Longevity? The games will both last an hour at most before you find it far too repetative.

luckily, the game came out in the bargain bin price range. its one of those play through once with your friends over lan and never touch it again, otherwise, you might hurt yourself.

It does have that coop saving grace. I so wish more games had full coop modes.

i still haven't played through SS2. i had started playing it with someone else, but i didn't get too far. that was back in the day when i had an 8gig harddrive, which meant lotsof program swapping...

Ouch, that's gotta smart. I've got 160 gigs of space and I keep running out. I image it's a nightmare with 8 gigs. SS2 was just more of the same.

very much more of the same.
they should have at least had a lot more monsters... heck, the first monster you fight is old. that just sets the scene for the rest of the game.

i'm up to 80gigs now. only using 30gigs though

well, they're all in the country i just moved away from, and i doubt any of us would want to play.

i'm able to keep a low gig count due to the fact that i only have games on my pc, no movies.

I burn off my movies pretty quickly......
What about your MP3s? No self respecting geek can have less than a 20gig Mp3 collection. 60 or more is preferrable.

my only excuse is that i just switched over from dial-up. but other than that... i play games, they have their own music. no need to get mp3s since most of my time on the PC is games.
