you're right, the servers are slow and down like hell. I'd try to search for some mirror. But I don't think you'll appreciate warez sites

This isn't the first time they've offered GTA for free. There used to be a website called freeloader, which basically was a strange service that offered free "sponsored" software in exchange for annoying you with ads/promotions to buy sequals etc. GTA was their flagship program. Unfortunately it went under when the bubble burst.

Nope. IIRC there's only a dos vga, dos Glide, and windows svga.

the game is also available at fileplanet. My friend has a account there (which allows you to download stuff immediately, and fast). I'm having him download it, hehe.

Three reasons why this download is useless for:

I have a 56K connection.
I already have it.
I have GTA VC and dun give a ****in' crap 'bout it.
