Do you still play HL or mods (except CS)?

I'd like to know if it's useless to continue making the solo mod I started at least 1 year ago (based on op4 code)

Actually, I still LOVE HL. I often dload mods for it. I don't think HL will be dead someday. Its like Doom...

I would venture to say that HL is dead. BF1942 is goin to be the next 'HL' as such the mod comunity is blasting along with tons of convertions. Desert Combat, Conflict In Somalia, G.I. Joe, Star Wars, Space Combat, and a host of others that I can't remember. There hasn't been an online game I have played so much since HL as much as I have been playin BF1942.

My Rank at BFstats.com, even though thier rankin system is a little gimped right now, and I wouldn't hold much in it. Still pretty neat to see however.

Not at all. There is still a considerable amount who do still play mods. I dont see how you can compare a stealth game to a full out blow stuff up fps. As for BF1942 not all want to play in ww2.

Halflife mods are great if you're playing with the right people. I've never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever and never will like Counterstrike, but the some of the rest (DoD, Firearms, Dragonmod Z) are fun mods.

Actually all Ive every really played hardcore is TFC. Ive been playing for 4 years now and dont plan to quit anytime soon. I also play cs but the llamas in that game are to many. With CS you have the most of any mod:

1. Geeks: They play all day/night best at cs.
2. n00bs: we all know what these are.
3. hackers: n00bs who got mad cause they cant play, so decided to download some skill.
4. snipers: lamest of em all. Nothing ruins a game like an awp. The game would be much more enjoyable for me if I didnt have to cower around the map just to get picked off by some 12 year old in a squeeky voice calling me a n00b. gets me soooo MAD!!!!!!!!!

(and they wonder why people murder ppl)

I guess I would have fallen into the 3rd category of CS, then I got bored. Yeah, anyways I hardly ever play HL anymore, its some at some LAN parties with 4 or more people but thats about the only time I play.

Last night I set SC running on a Duron 900 w/ GeForce 2 Go and 128Mb RAM. I set the details to max in 640x480. though not smooth, it still ran quite well.

Sniping is a valid tactic. Snipers are an important part of any RL operation, so why shouldn't people do that in CS. It's not cheating. It's not illegal. The game was designed with sniping in mind, otherwise the AWP wouldn't be there.
