Xbox and your views?

I don't know where I saw it, but it said ppl over seas(ex... Europe,Japan,etc) didn't much prefer the Xbox.People in over here in america are buying them like candy.Me, I never think I will get an Xbox because it's games don't much appeal to me, but hey if the price gets around $99 dollars I might consider it.

I won't buy it because it doesn't have dating sims, simple as that.

Let's put it simple : Xbox is a failure in Japan and in Europe, it's only competitive in USA.

Actually in EU is still selling better than the GC... an interesting thing about genres is that it managed to get a Megami Tensei game...
Who knows ? Maybe in dire time the genre's library will widen a bit more...

Well, must depend from countries, cause here in France, it's a no go for Xbox, most of my friends have a PS2 or/and a GameCube, but none of them have a Xbox.

While I think the XBox is a great console overall, I wouldn't get it for the same reasons, not many games for my particular taste.

I thought Xbox was only beating GC in UK, while the rest of the europe goes PS2 first, GC second.

Anyways, Xbox is a great console depending on your tastes. It's number one hands down for online connectivity, and has lots of PC oriented games. Similarly, Sega seems to have a high interest in the xbox so sega fans (unless you're really into sonic team, in which case go GC) should tend to gravitate toward the xbox. The main reason to own an xbox? Halo & Halo 2.

As for me, I wouldn't buy an xbox cuz im a nintendo fan, and if i ever got another console, it would be a PS2 for its rpgs. Plus my friends already have an xbox.

Look dude, it all comes down to the games you want.

Initially I wanted;

Twisted Metal Black
Smackdown Series
GTA
PC ports
RE CVX

And a few other. Once I got these game, I realized that these were just fillers

I then eventually evolved a taste, a specific PS2 taste. I mistakenly played FFX, and fell in love with it and I MUST play its sequel.

AFA GC is concerned, I just love Resident Evil. GC stands second on my list. I am pretty much sure that once I get a GC, I may evolve a Nintendo taste ONCE again. The WWE games also seem to be good on it, not good as PS2's WWE lineup but still much better than that of XBOX's.

AFA as XXXBOX is concerned, I can't look forward to anything. Except for Shenmue. One uncertain game with a dark future doesn't very much appeal to me. Even though The Rock was standing next to Gates in the XXXBOX launch, the WWE games, so far, simply SUCK on it. Every other genre on it is outclassed by that of PS2 or sometimes even GC. I'd rater upgrade my system instead of buying it.

As Syed said, it's all about the games. For me, the only worthwhile console is the PS2. Next in line would be the X-Box tho. The GC has naff all I want.

The only game that looks remotely interesting to me on the Xbox now or at ANY point in its future development life is DoA Xtreme Volleyball. The only way I'd pick an Xbox up is if someone gave me one for free.

AS far as the GC is concerned the only 2 game I got the GC for would be Metroid Prime and Zelda.

games games games....exclusives at that....none of this enhanced ports with added features...granted some titles have us slightly interested...The new Ninja Gaiden game for example...but it's hard to want one currently when a game released can be also found on a console we already own (we have a PS2 and GC)..or is later released for PC (Splinter Cell, Halo, etc)...
As prices drop our interest will peak more....we would be a liar if we didn't admit that an altered Xbox could make a beautiful low cost emulation hub....

Agreed... PS2 is the ruler no matter which kind of game you like (except for platform games) only reason to not give it that title is if you are a fanboy

As for the XBOX/GC I'd choose the XBOX first since it's the console who gets the most support from Sega PDO is more than a reason to me but the rest of Sega games will make me buy whatever system that feature them... for now the GC only has 3 titles I'd like to play while the XBOX has a few more than that (of course most of them are from Sega

)...

X-Box does not appeal to me since I don't care for the games and none seem to be coming that do appeal to my tastes. The PS2 and PSOne have all the games that I like and there are a few on GC as well. But as of right now, I not considering a GC either. My PS2, PSX emus, and all my other emus are quite enough for me at the present time.

Isn't Princess Holiday a Dating Sim? It's out on PC as well.
Anyways, I think XBOX should be used for import Japanese games. You can find most of English games on PC.
