one must fall 2097 ( some problems)
well this game is VERY old was released as a freeware sometime ago, for nostalgiaīs sake i got it, but had 4 (!!) problems when trying to run it
1st : the sound stutters BADLY no matter what card i put, i have a sound blaster 128 2nd : when in the character selection screen if i press up or right the game simply closes 3rd : when i enter a fight the game goes totally crazy with a ultra-fast speed. 4th : with sound on i wonīt even get to the character select screen :eyes: anyone knows how to fix any of the above? thx

Try VDMSound (http://ntvdm.cjb.net/). It's a program designed to help running old DOS games in Windows 2000/XP.

I'd say run it in a VMWare window. It's a DOS game so....

VMWare is a virtual PC program. You install 9x on the virtual machine, and you can run the game while in XP.

This happens with most "epic megagames" dos games. I don't think there is any way to fix this. This isn't jes 'cause the game is old (I'm playin' Bio-Menace, from 1990!).

Yeah I remembered playing this game when I was younger and tried playing it on my current system and had similar problems... actually it might not have even ran in the first place... it's a shame cause that was a pretty cool game.
And yeah, I have bio-menace and that works on mine too... great game... some other old DOS games like Monkey Island 2 and Commander Keen work without any outside programs either.

there's a good dos games emu in the works but it doesnt support protected mode games yet (games using dos4gw, pmodew, cwsdpmi), and OMF2097 is one of those (just like most "386+" games) |

![]() Anyway, it works fine here with VDMSound + sound at normal quality, no crashes at all. I'm using the latest VDMSound and Launchpad from http://ntvdm.cjb.net. For the speed thing, go into a fight, press ESC and adjust the speed. []s Badaro

I got this game too, and the crashes happen to me too. However, I'm using win98, and running in pure DOS makes the game run fine.
