Just Bought Diablo 2 Battlechest

Has an expansion, Diablo and a buncha other stuff.

I am in the process of making backup CDS of. Anyone recall any trouble getting backup CDS to function?

I know wc3 won't work with a backup cd. It's quite irritating.

I use the original discs to install the game then use Daemon Tools to run. You only need to keep an image of the expansion disc for that.

BTW, I think both Warcraft III and Diablo II use Safedisc 2 protection for the CD, so you'll need either CloneCD or Blindwrite and a burner capable of reading and writing subcodes to backup the disc properly.

How would I find out if my burner is capable?

Chris Ray: Both WC3 and Diablo II (with LoD) work just fine on back-up cds Just make sure all emulation options are enabled on your daemon-tools.

Check the websites for Blindwrite and CloneCD.They have lists of burners and their capabilities there.

Omegainf solution worked. Having Daemon emulate those features. Damn I had no idea Daemons tools effected normal CDS ^^

ChrisRay, AFAIK, Diablo (the original) can be copied w/anything. I made a copy from my original to use and it works just fine.

Ya, Diablo, And Starcraft and Starcraft Brood Wars work perfectly with ISO'd copies.

It seems Wacraft3 and Diablo 2 require Daemon emulation. BUt it's worth it to save my own CD. BTw thanks everyone

I use Daemon Tools even with games I can make backups of. It's just too convenient having everything in your HD, and needing no cracks to play.

I'm just a HD nut. I hate keeping a TON of things on my HD, I have 40 gigs of space and I only use about 7 of it.

I never let myself use more than 10 gigs

Most of these games only require the CD to bootup. They really don't use anything on them =\

I saw that Diablo 1 expansion a long time ago., But I have never seen any information on it from Blizzard., So it's not really well used? Like diablo 2?

IIRC it's a Single-Player only add-on.

Hellfire? I have it.

>IIRC it's a Single-Player only add-on.

Not true. My brother, some mates and I used to play it together at the Cafe. It's not really superb, but it ain't bad. Adds the new class: Monk, who is a demon with combat staffs (he hits all 3 squares in front of him instead of just the one), and is still the boy unarmed. It also added 2 new extra dungeons, which the maggotts lair and the final part of Episode 3 in DII look very similar to.......

Even so, Hellfire wasn't an official expansion to Diablo I... mind you one of the new classes were avaible via editing some file of the game...

heh, i played hellfire too, the insect lair was an interesting bunch of levels, and like kane said, the other new dungeon was like the durance of hell in act 3 of d2

there was a multiplayer patch for hellfire, i dont think it allowed battlenet support but did allow lan and modem play

the argument that it isnt an official expansion really depends on what you mean by official, but it was still sorta fun, one of the best things in it were the new spells, the runes, and the oil potions which added damage or durability to weapons, thats how the monk actually ended up doing good damage in that game
