Music Video of FF8

well while watching tv i saw a music video of ff8 but i don't know the title of this any one know???
on all ff games on psx & ps2 thats been release its the only game that i didnt played
but after watching the music video i'm eager to play it (saw those nice fmv)
what do you think???
can i still appreciate it after playing ff7,ff9,ff10 etc...
well i know the graphics is inferior to newer games but how about the story??? and another pros of this games and also the cons...
i cant rely on all review sometimes its not right

U can't trust our opinion too. Each of us have his/her opinion. Some ppl think FF8 is the worst ff ever, some think its the best one. I LOVE FF8. Its the best FF ever, the junction system is great, the mdecs are great, the story is incredible (but inferior to FF7) and the graphics are great. The only RPG better than FF8 is Xenogears. But hey, this is MY opinion.

MY opinion is that FF8 is the third worst of the entire series. FF9 and FF2j being the worse ones. But hey, if you could stomach FF9, then why not? You've already seen the worst that can happen.

Just like what Ninja said, you digested () FF9, I guess you can play FF8. Trust me. In my opinion, FF8 is a good RPG game, though it have flaws.

Actually the one I first thought of when I saw this thread was this fan made Vertical Horizon music video. It was fairly well timed, and the song was almost a perfect choice for the game. It contains a few spoilers, but it is well timed, and I can really see what the maker wanted to do.

Ragnarok, if you liked the game this much, then I would recommend giving the video a watching. The song's title is Everything you want or something like that. I am too tired to remember...

Are you talking about the ending MDEC where eyes on me is played? if so i can give you that, but just download PSXMC and watch it from your disc

First, Why don't u like FF2j? The story is quite good, the game is fun, the system is great... I have a NES emulator just 'cause of this game.
BTW, Why most ppl don't like FF8? Its sooooo great! And don't tell me its 'cause of the draw system. If u don't like drawing, just don't do it. U can refine magics from items.

psicomaniaco, I confess I didn't get too far in FF2j, but I didn't like much of what I saw. (I got to the second continent). I still mean to finish the game at some point, but I got sidetracked.

My biggest gripe with the game was the combat system. It reminded me a lot of FF8...

I didn't like FF8 because the draw system sucked, and the alternative was even worse. I didn't like much about the story either. In a lot of cases it seemed a lot like a soap opera gone wrong. The only character I actually liked in the game was Squall. The rest seemed fairly uninspired and flat to me.

FF8 sux. FF9 rulez. Everyone has his/her own opinion.

FF8 had a very bland story. When the end of the game came around, I didn't feel like I wanted to kill the boss of the game. He/she was introduced so close to the end that I felt the character had no connection.

well for others xenogears is the best but for me tod2... maybe because i played it a bit late and the graphics just sux so i didnt bother continue playing it.... now i'm wating for xenosaga is this game releated to the first????

if u dont like the graphix for tod2 for psx, try the ps2 one when it comes out. (dont ask me, i dont know when)

TOD2 for the PSX was the US name for Tales of Eternia 2 (ToE 1 never arrived in the states IIRC) ToD 2 PS2 is a proper sequel to ToD

I think FF8 has got some positive and negative points.
I like it because the story, it wasn't superb, but not too bad either.
But you will need a lot of magic, which you can draw, and they don't cost MP, but you can "carry" them with you. The drawback of this feature is that when you have junctioned some very powerful magic to your HP for example, your HP will lower when you use that spell. And the refining of items simply isn't a good alternative since you don't have enough items to refine 300 of one kind of magic.
Also the main character Squall is a dumbass in the beginning: You should never, never, NEVER let a beauty like Rinoa go!! If only I was him.......

I'm just trying to give some info by giving my opinion. I don't intend in starting a battle like there has been in many other threads.

Overall it's a decent RPG, it's worthy for your collection.

FF VIII junction system (IMO) sucks incomparison to FF VII materia system. also the limit breaks dont happen until the chracacter is at a VERY critical situation ( hes about to die). for an RPG, its good, but it doesnt meet the standards of FF games. The story concept sould have made this game a masterpiece if it was presented more neatly and more indepth,while the graphics look superb.anyways,.....this all my personal opinions

Ff7 was my first FF, and I bought 8 only because I knew 7 was good. I've only read some things about the psx version. And suddenly I saw FF8 pc version in a store. I didn't even had to think for one minute. I looked up the requirements and bought it. And it didn't dissappoint me. Exept when it made my computer crash at a certain point!! I was so pissed because I wanted to go on. I went back to the store for an other copy, but it still crashed. After that I deleted a wave file, and it worked Don't ask me why, but I was happy again.

I really like the idea of that junction system, although I needed some time to estimate its REAL capacities (It took me a quite loooong time to get 100x Ultima for every char, but it was worth it ).

Yeah, if you want to get full Ultima for all characters, you need patience. This is the same with Aura, Meteor, Triple and Flare.
You need them if you want your stats high... but it needs time.
The junction system have advantage and weak point... The advantage is you can make your characters invincible while the weak point is the system discourage the gamer in using magic.
