Xenosaga censored for the US Release!

Yup, Xenosaga is going to cause controversy like its predecessor Xenogears.

A scene between Albedo and MOMO will be editted.

The scene is relatively late in the game, involving Albedo and MOMO. It is not overtly sexual, but it is very unsettling considering the age of the MOMO character (android or not, she looks like a 12-year-old). It's not clear exactly how much of the sequence will be removed, but it will at least be edited to omit the most potentially controversial images.

So what is this controversial scene?

A guy named Albedo who doesn't respect life of these lifeforms called realiens finds MOMO, who is one of these lifeforms. Basically she gets lost and wakes up to find Albedo ****ing with her mind, with a computer, and becomes something of a father-figure to her. Then he goes on this mad long rant about how women are weak and humans are useless and all this really pretentious about civilization's creation. Then he begins to rip various parts of his body apart and throwing them around (including at MOMO, at one part he mashes his head apart into different pieces). He congeals back together, and then shoves his hand up MOMO, while she pleads with him not to do it and screams for help. Actually, he's trying to get something he needs that's inside her, but STILL! Not only that, but there's that whole intention of his to turn into a sick incest thing. Worse yet, she is very obviously portrayed as a child (always playing with Jr. and looks like one too) and he name, though its an acronym, means "peach." Oh yeah, and when Jr. comes to save her, I forgot, he keeps on shoving his hand back into MOMO, farther and farther, and asks Jr. wants to join in, and then says, "But it feels sooooo nice." It was at this point that I realized Takahashi is a complete talentless hack who has absolutely redeeming feature to his storytelling. That's just way too sick.

I hate US versions! Why US like to censor parts of games?? Americans will die if they saw the scenes like they should be? Look at FF4! They took off the scene where Cecil and Rosa where kissing. In FF8, in ultimecia castle, there's a room with blood dripping from a knife. In the jap version the blood is red, but in the us version the blood is green!

All their trying to do is to protect the young ones who might get their hands on this game. unfortunately, not all the people are kids, and it destroys the whole story for the rest

yeah, all the parents want is to protect the kids from violence or nudity from video games while the kids watch all those stuff on their own... tsktsktsk, this just pisses me off!

someone who´s able to play and enjoy the game up to that scene must have maturity enough for it, as stated it is very late in the game, and no kid would want to sit for hours watching movies and listening long dialogues if they don´t understand it.

If that scene is too intense then Xenosaga should have gotten a M rating instead of editting that scene.

I don't think a M rating would have hurt Xenosaga sales.

You can just look to another M rated game like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City to see how well that game is selling.

BTW, Xenosaga is not the only PS2 to be censored.

The PS2 version of BMX XXX has no topless women compared to the Xbox version.

yeah, i agree w/ the rating comment, but if it doesn't get an M rating then that scene definitely has to go. it is too disturbing, and while i disagree w/ most other censoring done in the states, that scene sounds like a little much for the american audience.
