Translated French Article

"The Japanese site 1984.jp publishes a long interview of Hideo Kojima in connection with the marketing of MGS II Substance in the archipelago. Questions inevitably slipped towards the next MGS 3. Without bringing significant elements, this one concedes however that the first trailer will be revealed in E3 2003. Lastly, the site promises a large surprise on Xbox which will be revealed on next 17 December. An address to be kept under the elbow..."

Hmmm... seems like Microsoft is trying to counter Megaton. We will see who holds the upper hand at the end of the day.

Well here is what's going on :

The master himself has spoken, confirming the obvious - work is underway on MGS3 as we speak.

On Japanese TV recently, Hideo Kojima - creator of the Metal Gear Solid series - confirmed that he is indeed working on Metal Gear Solid 3. He also stated that it will get its first showing at E3 in May.

Kojima also revealed that he is currently looking into the possibility of a MGS online title. What isn't known, as yet, is what consoles will get the new Metal Gear game/s - Kojima-san wasn't prepared to spill the beans on that one.

Confirming MGS3 may sound like stating the obvious - but good news is good news however unsurprising it may be. So, Kojima mate - nice one.

And on another note :

Rumours abound that Solid Snake's PlayStation incarnation is getting a Gamecube makeover

Fresh from the rumour mill comes this report that Hideo Kojima is working on a remake of Metal Gear Solid for Gamecube. The game is reportedly scheduled for a late 2003 release and the same source states that it will be officially announced very soon (possibly within the week).

We're sure Ninty fans would welcome the return of Snake (having already appeared on NES and Game Boy) and a Gamcube remake of the fantastic PSone title would be great news.

However, we spoke to Konami's UK office and they know nothing of a Metal Gear Solid port to Gamecube - and they're of the opinion that they would be in the picture if the game was actually happening.

So, doesn't look too promising, then. But, hey, you never know - rumours have a habit of biting you on the ass every now and again.

I just love Mr. Kojima

Personaly I though MGS2 sucked and I dont think MGS3 will be all that great. IF you guys want to hear why I didnt like mgs2 I can post my MGS2 rant vol. 2.0 If MGS3 is anything like 2 I wont be getting it. As for an online MG game, sounds dumb.

If you look on the Metal Gear Document (or whatever its called) there are trailers for MGS 3. Originally MGS2 was mainly supposed to take place on the ship and in new york city. Look at the trailer showing Snake being chased by the harrier on the bridge.

MGS3 was going to be the big shell chapter. I think they changed because of what happened on sept 11th. People would frown on seeing parts of New York being nuked by metal gear ray. So they shortened the Tanker Chapter and scaled down the big shell chapter (ever wonder why you only saw half of it?)

Speaking of MGS2 did anyone pick up the new PC Gamer? Looks like they're going to do a nice job on the PC port of the game. Enhanced AI is being added, all the features included in substance. Enhanced graphics (we hope), spanning 6 CDs or 2 DVDs, they also might include more online stuff like global ranking or multiplay, who knows they also might add a teaser trailer for MGS3! Unlike the 'crappy' (I thought it was good) port of MGS1; the port of MGS2 is being supervised by Hideo-san himself!! Good news there, he won't put out junk.

It always bothered me that you saw arsenal going on a river and suddendly it 'crashed' with no cut scene or anything and Raiden somehow got out of the belly of the metal gear and on to the top of a building.

Well, when Solidus, Revolver, Fortune, Snake, and Raiden are together, they're on Arsenal's top (or roof).
